Well I have taken the first step to my surgery proccess. I went to my  orientation and first support group meeting. The only problem is that I live 2 hours away and don't know how i am going to be able to get to as many meetings as i would like to.  I am going to turning to here for more support than going to Bangor.  To tell everyone about myself i am a single mom to two wonderful boys and I have an eating problem. I turn to food more than I should and I am working on this issue. I have started going to the YMCA locally and I'm spending time with friends rather than pushing people away. I know right now that I am going to need all the help that I can, as well as support. My family supports me 100% in this and want to see me get healthy and live longer than the road that i have set myself on. Before my first child I wiehgted 190 lbs. Now i wieght  the heaviest I NEVER want to be again. 350 lbs. My plans are to drop down to 180 lbs. I would love more than anything to be healthier so that i can play and run with my children and be there for all of their plays, concerts, trips everything. I am also doing this so that I can be happy with myself and be able to say I did it. I can lose these "binds" that slow me down.  If anyone wants to know more about me feel free.

Welcome to the site.  I find a lot of support here.  I do not post or reply all that much, but I do browse and check out what people are talking about.  You seem to starting off right, exercise is very important and so is the support from friends and family.

Welcome!    These are some of the greatest people around!  Feel free to ask questions or just vent!  (I know I do!)  You have taken the first steps to a healthier life!  Congrats!    This journey is like a rollercoaster of emotions but it is SOOO worth the ride!  My husband and kids were my main motivation for having surgery done too!  I'd like to see them grow up and it's awesome to be able to keep up with them all!  I agree with Jill...you're doing great to start the exercise now!  I've found it's such a big help!  Congrats on starting your journey!   Ruth

Thank you all for the support. I am going to need all i can get. My mom is one of my biggest supports. She is constantly at me to lose weight and has urged me the whole way. She is willing to take my youngest son while i'm in the hospital and she has a hard time tollerating him lol, he is a screamer, but that is the only way that i know he is okay.  My brother is another motivator. He wants to see me healthier and happier. I will be posting updated pictures when i can.

Hello, good morning ,Sarah, We are so happy you have joined us, this is the best place around.  I have learned so much from all these girls and most has nothing to do with diet.  It is wonderful having some great friends you can turn to any time of day,  someone is always lurking and ready to help or just talk to.  There are many bumps in the road and you will need someone who understands, you will see throughout your process, from all your tests, insurance, pre op diet, recovery, telling family and friends.  there is always something, but we have all been through it.  Best of luck, and Welcome...
