midcoast maine support group

I live in Thomaston and am wondering if anyone knows of a support group in my area....thanks for the help....

I haven't looked to see where Thomaston is...but I know there are some in Bangor and here in Lewiston....Sorry...I'm not very helpful!!!!!!    Ruth

Thanks for the reply.  Thomaston by Rockland right on the coast.   I have been to the support group in Bangor, but it's 1.5 hours away and we're about the same distance from Lewiston. I had my surgery in Bangor in Mar03 and have gained some weight back.  I had lost 210 pounds and now am at 150 pounds lost.  I'm very happy with the amount I've taken off but scared that it's creeping back.  My doctor says to take off about 40 pounds and that would be great so I was looking for a support group nearby.   I loved going to Bangor.  It's so encouraging to see other people, their challenges and their successes.   Thanks again for the response.  And Congratulations and your great success....

I also live in Thomaston. I don't know of a support group in Mid-coast area. There are surgeons in Augusta, so perhaps a group meets there.  Yes, Bangor is a ways away.  PM me, perhaps car-pooling is possible. Emily

I too would like to find a closer group, maybe someone could start one through pen Bay or something.

   Hi Sarah, How are you feeling? I had thought there was one at PenBay Hospital, tried calling about it and got no response.  This was quite a while ago.      I'm not the type to start a group but I would think there would be a good response.  I know there are alot of people in this area who have had the surgery and people interested.  If someone was willing to start it, I would be willing to help.      Sharon

I would like to take a poll and see if we can pull something together. I know  that it would help wonders.
