Second week in a row, I've had problems at Church.  This morning, I ate a little (couple of bites of Weight Control oatmeal with 1/2 scoop protein....didn't eat but 2 bites of it and had to leave for Church...I only took my prevacid and multivit before I left so nothing else would get stuck). So, I made it through about 25 minutes of Church today and then, as we were kneeling, got dizzy and the Preist's voice started to fade out, we stood up, and I passed out.  Luckily DD and the lady behind me eased me to my knees.  I wasn't out for long, but scared the crap out of DD.  So, we came home.....I've been drinking fluids, called the doc's office and they were supposed to page the on-call doc to see if I needed to do anything else, but still haven't heard anything.  I'm still not feeling quite right, but not dizzy, really.  So, my question........should I call the office back or just hold out to tomorrow?  Thanks for your input!  I jokingly told DH that I was just gonna have to stop going to Church....haha...yeah right! Sorry this is so long......Happy Father's day to all those special guys out there!!!!!!  Ruth

Ruth did you just have labs done? Is something low? You have me worried girl. This is what I do before Church I do a full strength protein shake. 52 grams of protein I drink it over an hour. Our church is laid back so most everyone has a drink in there with them. So I am getting fluid in during the service. Stick a cheese stick in your pocket book if you need to. Please be careful.  Honks. You are far enough out from surgery to have protein bars now. The pure protein ones they have at walmart are quite low in sugar. Maybe have one of those if you get shaky.

Just had labs done last Monday for my 2 month follow up with Dr L!  Everything was great!   Dr L was really pleased with everything...I wasn't even anemic anymore!  Thing is, I felt great going into Church, it just started as I was kneeling.  My Church isn't quite as laid back as yours and eating/drinking is generally frowned upon.  DH asked if they had painted or something in the Church as he thought it might be something in the building...but I don't think so!  This is just weird and it's driving me nutty!  Thanks for your concern Kathy....I'll be fine, I'm sure!   Ruth

Maybe a protein bar just before you go into church would be a good thing for you. It could be a result of being sick too couldn't it? Are your lungs clear now? Let us know how you feel through the week.

Ruth, i'm sorry you are having such a hard time.  it is weird how you feel fine all the rest of the time. Maybe your priest is boring and you are just falling asleep??? haha, j/k.... I dont' know, seems like you are healthy enougth to walk 8 miles, church would be a breeze, and since there wasn't heat today?? I dont' think anyone would frown apon a water, now really???  it is summer and no air in our churches up here in Maine...I'd deffinately sit in back row next time, and have DH come with you, maybe he will just in case, (great way to get him to go with you)  hope your doing better and have a great week.  You need to tell us all about your Matante visit....

Might be about kneeling and getting up, the head rush....First thing in the morning you can have lower blood pressure than the rest of the day, and kneeling and getting up too fast can be too much for you...You really have to push food in the am, on Sunday, get up a little earlier, or just decide to have a protein shake on Sunday mornings.  That way you know you are ready to go. But...we are not doctors and hope you get your answers from them soon.  Keep us updated. hugs, kate

Hey Y'all!  Thanks for all your concern and wishes!!    I think I'm gonna call the doc back in the morning...since they never called me back today!!!!!!!!!  (Not sure I'm liking this "on call" crap when no one calls you back...glad it wasn't life threatening although they probably figured that I'd go to the ER if it was THAT bad)  The dizziness and lightheadedness actually started when I was kneeling and I was able to get to standing and last for a minute or two before I "went down".  So, I don't know?!?!?!  I've been very, very very tired ALL day today!  My dad even said that I looked like crap today too...thanks DAD!  haha    I've been napping off and on for the past 2 hours and heading off to bed now!   On a side note........and THIS is weird.....and probably TMI.............I've only gone pee twice today?!?!?!  Good night everyone!  Sleep well!  hugs and honks!  Ruth

Ruth are yo drinking enough?  Like a lot?  You are exercising  very much and with summer weather, maybe dehydration is the issue.  I don;t know but be sure to call the DR. first thing in the morning.  Let us know how you make out.

Are you on blood pressure meds?  I know that I felt dizzy all the time, due to the fact my blood pressure was too low.  So I stopped my meds and it went away.

A combo of low bp and low blood sugar could do a number on a person.  Hope you find out soon what this could be. You know I am not anemic either but my ferritin is way low My PCP is the one that picked up on that one. Let us know how you make out.
