Picky eater

I am just in the beginning stages of this process but I am trying to find foods that I will like that are appropriate for after surgery. I have an idea what the shakes will taste like and will probably do ok with those but I have been trying some other stuff. I bought some plain 2% fage the other day and it tastes like sour cream. How am I supposed to eat it? It is yucky plain although my co-worker thought it was great when I gave her the rest of mine. I hate yogurt and have been trying some different ones to no avail. Help. I did like the consistency of the fage just not the flavor.

I use the Light and Fit, carb control,  yogurt and I  like the taste.  I tried the Fage and wasn't liking it too much either...although everyone says to mix stuff with it and it tastes better?!?!  I've never been a cottage cheese eater either, but I've had some since surgery....still not my favorite!  I just gotta get the protein and calcium from other sources I guess!  Good luck!  Ruth

In the  fage yogurt i add a couple  teaspoons of spenda  and  then  blueberries   and some sugar free jam. I love it is is heavier than regualr yogurt   and i can sweeten it to my tastes.  You can add more splenda   if you want it sweeter . Dont buy a whole lot before your surgery  as your  tastes  sure change alot  right after surgery.   I had  soup in the house  and  protein shakes   and some  baby food  fruit. and Yogurt of course

I mix my Fage with 1 packet of sweetner ~ like sweet-n-low or splenda.  Then you can add just about anything to it = peanut butter is my favorite then I freeze it.  I've added strawberries, sf jam, sf chocolate & peanut butter (OMG YUM!).  I've also added salsa to it plain and used that as a dip w/ baked pita chips or soy krisps.  Good on "Mexican Omletts" too.  I have yet to try it cooked but I've seen some recipes with it heated. I always suggest people check out www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has TONS of options at every stage.  Good luck!

I would not even bother right now to find things for after. Your tastes will change dramatically Just make sure you have protein for when you get home.

I am a protein shake junky, I love them.  Found an Artic Cappachino that is like having an iced coffee in the morning, still drink that every morning to start out with a big bang of protein.  So, relax, you will figure it all out, try lots of things and as others have said you will find that after surgery things ae different, really different, about what you like and don't. Honking you on to success!! kate
