So I am back to the topic of picking one drink to try for our trip in Vegas (which is in a week and 2 days yahoo!)  I stood in the bgeer aisle for 30 minutes (after already researching online) and still ended up leaving with nothing to try. I know I want to have 1 drink while I am there playing some blackjack.  So I want to try at home first. I am not a beer drinker, so I would hate to have one just because ya know.  I really wanted to try a zima or bicardi silver malt drink...but I tried to find info online about the sugar and couldn't.  And on top of that...what are the chances they will have those there on the casino floor? I also am not a big rum and coke girl or soemthing like that.  And without fruit juices or mixes---I am just not seeing anything. Anyone tried a white wine spritzer?  I wonder what type of glass that comes in.  I am all set on havibng a stemmed wine glass that I can easily knock over beside me. Anyone know if they have zima, twisted tea or anything like that at the casinos.  What drinks have you tried and was was the effect? Maybe I should do a flavored vodka and some diet 7up...but then it is fizzy. Geesh Lousie this is tough for just 1 drink.  But I want to be prepared. I like malibu rum, but would have no idea what to mix with it besides pineapple that would taste good.  But I also wonder if it has sugar in it since it is flavored coconut.  Why do alcohol drinks not have stinkin labels on them...at least calories.

I   tried   a bloody mary  at home with a half  a jigger of  tequila in it    I also  used vodka tomato  juice   sets well with me  and so does  tabasco sauce and worcestershire sauce which  are all in it. You  could also  have   orange juice  and  vodka ,  tequila or rum.   You  would just have to watch how much  orange juice you drink if you arent drinking it now   You could also try  a  white wine  or  zinfendel wine.  I  had two drinks in a couple hours when i was in Mexico  and i did fine   didnt  need any more than  one  tho. I  did try a pina  colada  and  after  a quarter of a drink i started to dump  and had to go to my room and  sleep it off.   I wont ever  do that again.  lol   Good luck  and Yes it was nice to have a drink while i was  on vacation but most of the time I had  ice water and no one new the difference. I havent  had a n alcolhol  drink since i came home as i dont drink like that  or like i did when i was young lol. Have a great  day!!!!

So I decided I was gonna have to do some sort of alcohol in a tall glass with ice and either diet 7up or sprit, or club soda.  So I called around and Roopers had those minibottles like they have on the plane.  I got a malibu rum, a malibu pineapple, and a bicardi razz.  So at some point this week I am gonna try one so at least I have a plan and know how it will effect me.  I will elt you know how it goes.

Not sure if you looked on Dailyplate or sites like this...but this nut info is for the malibu.  I couldn't find the malibu pineapple, but the bacardi razz was listed on there.  Maybe it could give you more nut info?  Hope it helps!  Ruth

haha, Ruth, your too funny, you would be the one to look up nutritional value in alcohol... no wonder your doing so well.  Corinne should have you as her assistant.  You go girl.    I need to follow your lead.  hugs, cheryl

My favorite drink used to be Bacardi Razz with sprite zero.  Not sure of the sugar content though and no I have not dared to try a drink yet either. LOL.  Ps Raspberry Stoli and sprite zero are also excellent.  Actually, I think the raspberry stoli was my favorite not the other way around.  I can't remember, it has been so long.  Missi

Okay...I know I'm a bad girl but I like wine!  I drink White Zinfindel quite often and 1/2 glass does it for me ~ buzzed!!  I am a beer girl too but NOT  canned and NOT cheap.  I like the specialty beers like Sam Adam's Summer Ale, Magic Hat #9, Killian's Irish Red, etc...  They are not carbonated and have not upset my pouch.  I took a sip of DH budwiser and NEVER again.  I didn't like it pre-op and post-op it sent my pouch into spasms (litterally).  I've dipped my tongue in Jagar only once post surgery because I loved it pre-op and just can't imagine what it would do to me now.  I sound like an alcoholic but quite the opposite actually as I grew up with an alcoholic father.  I have an addictive personality so I need to be careful.  Anyone wanna guess what I became addicted to instead of drugs or alcohol!!!!!!!  Bet you can't guess... Anyway back to subject:  Tanya I wouldn't suggest anything with soda as the carbonation can be a killer.  The Bacardi Silver's or a Hard Tea might be a better choice.  Is there such a thing as a good choice for alcohol post-op???? Good luck!!!

Stephanie
