my fill, how was yours Jill & LInda?
so I had it, the fill went great, no pain at all. Dr. said I was right on track with my loss, he said the bad averages one lb a week, its been 6 weeks and I've lost 6 since surgery. I feel great, Of course Corinne wants me to drop my calories, or keep where I have them now, no more and get more exercise in. I'll work on that. I havn't eaten yet, so don't know how its gonna do. I eat whole liquids tonight and reg food tomorrow. oh, and if you all remember, we were told Dr. Loggins is going to stop doing the band and replace it with VSG (sleeve). He said that was the furthest from the truth. He will continue doing the band as long as it is around and being done. SO I guess it was just a rumor. Hmmmm!!! so all is well today.... Cheryl
FYI ALL, I ate cream soup for supper and apple sauce, felt very satified, i'm sure will be much different when I have whole foods tomorrow. right now, not too much difference but liquids tend to go right thru the band. we will see, Dr. was happy and said I was on track and so did Corinne so I feel better. now, lets wait and see where this brings us.
My appointment went well too. They said I was doing good the dietitian wants me to eat more for breakfast and lunch so I'm not so hungry at supper. Sharon my nurse gave me .5 cc so now I have a total of 1 3/4 cc in my band. I asked her what size band I had again and she told me that my band can hold a max of 4cc of saline. I should notice a difference with this fill and changing my eating habit a little. Cheryl how much cc did they give you?? Happy all went well for you.. I told you that you were doing fine and that was without a fill GREAT JOB
... i have to go for blood test for them , iron,B-12,CBC,Ferritin, Vitamin D. How about you???? ~~~~~ Linda

well, I asked and he said he gave me 1 mg or mm or mcg (not good with measurements) and that we had already some primer in the band during surgery of 2 or 3 mg, and my band holds 10 mg. so I hear alot on the band site say 5 is a common sweat spot so, i'm not that far off, maybe a few more fills and I'll be golden. I also have the AP band, I read up on it and it is the band that goes 360 degrees around, better for slippage. I havn't really had a meal yet, having a protein shake for breakfast so i'm anxious for later to see if I notice a difference. we will be in Boston so I don't want to be sick so I"m going to have soup or chowdah to be careful. NOt going to have a salad like I usually have, playing it safe. I'm happy your's went well too. How many fills is this for you, and have you had a good restriction yet?? sweet spot??
Cheryl, I am confused. I know you had the band, but I guess I don't really know how it works. Have you been restricted to only 600 (?) calories ever since the surgery without the benefit of no appetite and have lost just 6 pounds? That seems sooo hard to me, and you have been so positive and upbeat through it all, you little ray of sunshine you! So after fills, is it easier to diet because your pouch holds less? Have you only been drinking liquid protein all this time and not eating solid food? When does the surgical benefit show itself? Seems like 600 calories a day for anyone would result in a 6 lb loss and then some. I am so glad your doc says you are right on track. I guess I just don't understand what that track is. Sorry if you explained this already while I was not active and if you want to PM me so you don't have to repeat it that is ok too...
Can't wait to see pics of your gardens!

Hi,
Glad everyone had good visits with their fills and it went well!! I am still trying to figure out, each band holds different amounts? and then each person is given a different amount of calories to follow?
Boy you guys are inspiration for me!
I am getting nervous my surgery date is next week. So, I am reading your posts and trying to remember everything you write!!
I hope I can do as well as you all are doing!
