Women's Health Day at Bridgton Hospital 6/7
I am going to this next weekend at Bridgton hospital. It is from 9 am to 1 pm. Lots of free screenings plus Dr Loggins and the nutritionist will be giving short lectures. I got an appt this week to see my pcp about being referred to him( I was gonna wait til my pe in July but I cant) and I would like to get the chance to meet his staff. I asked my mom to go and my dh is watching my little girl so we can make it a day for the girls just me and mom.
Also can anyone tell me the typical routine of once you get referred to Dr Loggins. Who di you see first? What are typical tests? Typical other appts you have to have? Thanks all for putting up with all my questions.
Congrats on getting things started! At your first appointment, expect to be there for a couple of hours. They show you a video, you meet Dr Loggins and Crystal. There's a bunch of paperwork you will have to fill out before you go to the appointment and that will give them an idea what type of further work up you may need. They'll set up the nutrition class with Corinne, the dietician. There is also a whole checklist they go through: LOTS of bloodwork that you can have done at your convenience, chest x-ray, ekg....trust me, there's a list of things to get done to make sure you are ready! They also want copies of your most recent physical, mammogram, pap test. Oh my, the list goes on, but they write everything down for you....they even schedule some of the stuff for you (nutrition class, chest x-ray, arterial blood gases, stuff like that). You will also have to have a psych consult (routine for everyone). They are very thorough with following up with anything they think could pose a problem. There are alot of things to do, but it is SO worth it in the end! Good luck and please feel free to ask all those questions! Everyone here is SO helpful! I'm not that far out, but some people here have so much experience to share! Pick their brains! Ask away! Ruth
