Life has been kinda hectic so I haven't been on much, but I do try to read as often as I can. I've copied my daughters Prom Picture to this post. A while ago I posted when we bought her dress and I said I would post a picture. She had a great time. Her Prom was in Portland so she had her 1st experience driving on the turnpike. She also turned 18 two weeks ago and her graduation is next week on 06/07/08. She also has her 1st appointment for Lapband on 06/26/08 with Dr Loggins office. She's excited about getting this started. We've talked about it for over a year now and was just waiting for her to turn 18.  Hopefully when things slow down I'll be back more. I've missed you all and its great to see all the new faces. Congrats to all the people who've had surgery that I've missed.  ~dori~

Your dgt is beautiful.  What a great time in her life.  Bet you were more nevous about the turnpike driving then she was.  I was just wondering how she chose the Band after you being so successful with RNY.  What does she plan on doing after HS.   I also want to say Im' sorry, I certainly wasn't pointing the finger at you.  I just noticed we saw alot more of the girls before their surgery, there are so many new girls (Pre op) now, which is great.  I was just wondering if it was a patern, I 'm far from ready to leave here, but then again, i havn't been successful yet.  We'll see.  enjoy the beautiful weather... cheryl

Thank you Cheryl. Yep I was very nervous when she took the turnpike with all her friends in her car. I made her call me when she got there and then when they left to go to Dennys then again when they came home. lol Megan chose the Lapband because she wants children some day and she thinks it will be the best choice for her. She needs the restriction for portion control. I chose RNY because I wanted the restriction from sugar as well as the portion control. My whole family is over eatters. It's a bad habit I passed along to my children. Megan has played field hockey since 4th grade and is active, shes just built like I was. Megans been eatting the same foods I eat now she just eats way to much and she knows this. Lapband is what she wants and I think it's the best choice. I know I could of NEVER done this on my own and I wish I had done this sooner, I'm just glad she has this choice as a young woman and she will have a long healthy life.  Megans been accepted to UMF. For elementary education with a concentration in Spanish, she took 5 years of Foreign language in 4 yrs of high school. Both Spanish & French. I didn't think you were pointing a finger at me, I've wanted to post Megans picture for a week now, it just seems I don't have much time after I read all the posts and theres always something going on here. I'm not ready to leave here either. My journey is far from over. Right now I'm still in that "honeymoon" phase and I'm sure it will be a struggle once my body gets use to being where I'm at and I'll need all the support I can get. ~dori~

Thank you kate. I keep telling her not to compare her weight loss to how mine was because lapband is slower. I think it wont be as much of an issue because I'm already at goal, but we will be able to support each other and I hope I'm able to help her succeed. ~dori~

What a great picture.  She looks great!  Did she have a great time at the prom?  It must get really hectic this time of year for you, graduation is a big thing, then to boot she is looking into lapband surgery.  Let her know that we wish her the best of luck with Dr. L's office, this is a big decision for her at a young age!
