I've been on here since OCT. reading, lurking, observing and learning.  not only on the Maine site but others as well.  I have noticed so many of us come here for support pre op and seems like after surgery so many just dissapear.  I guess, once the weight drops they don't feel they need the support.  I feel even after the weight has come off we might all be surprise at how we feel.  That we might realize that some of our sadness wasn't due to being overweight, and it is still there when we reach goal, and I hope to see everyone who has dissapeared come back so we can all work through this together. I was hoping this group would stick together.

I hadn't really noticed either, I hope people still visit from time to time and help us newbies along. You are right on the money when you say our sadness might not be all about the weight and when we lose the weight and STILL aren't happy then what. We all think that the weight is the reason for everything that is wrong in our lives, it takes on gigantic meaning and then oops we still might be sad or have a lousy marriage or a yuck job or problems with our kids, and it had nothing to do with weight. Supporting each other on this site, and others, and knowing when it is time to seek out more formal, professional help is important.  We are pretty good about steering people in the right direction, we can't make anyone do anything unless they are ready... Ruthie!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to my world!! Stalls are great aren't they?? Really make you wonder if anything was down, until you eat too fast or forget and gulp a drink, then oh yeah, I am rearranged.  Hang in there, girl, the scale  will move again. I am calling these times readjustments as my body tries to figure out what to do!! honks and hugs, kate

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

I haven't posted as much as I was because life has gotten in the way. I still try to get on as often as I can to read what you all have been doing. By the time I read about something, days have gone by and I don't post because it looks like the person got the support or answers they were looking for so I don't think I have anything benefical to add. Hopefully once my daughter graduates things will slow down a little for me. I miss everyone and I see some new faces here as well. Welcome to the Maine board to all the new people I've missed. I'm looking forward to the gathering in August so I can meet everyone. ~dori~

I had not really noticed either.....but then again I may seem like one of the "guilty" ones as I don't post as often as I use to. Like Dori, I do come on the site daily but either the questions that were asked have been answered really well that I have nothing to add or my time on the computer is so limited I don't have the time to answer as I'd like! My computer is also acting up a lot lately and freezes at the least little thing. I'm NOT going anywhere and plan to remain a member of this forum for quite a while. It IS nice to be able to come here and vent, pose questions etc.with people that are going through the same things you are. Emotions are such unpredictable things. Life throws us curves and it's nice to have friends who DO understand. Anne

Well Cheryl, I guess that I would be one of the guilty ones.  I have not been posting as much as I first did.  Time just flys by every day since I went back to work.  It is usually after 9 pm when I get on the computer.  I am not really good at even checking my house email.  At work, my computer is so public to everyone, I do not get on and post replies, but I am always looking at the advice and postings given.  I still need the support, but do find I get a lot of it just by reading the postings.  This summer when things die down a little for me, I am sure I will be posting a lot more.  I feel quite honestly that I am still very new to this, and do not have much to add, and also get a little frustrated as the little amount that is lost weekly as opposed to the RNY.  I guess it just never comes off as fast as we would like.  I could probably loose 15 lbs a week and still not be happy.

I too have not been posting as much as I did and that is because this is my really busy time at work and as I spend all day on a computer at work I tend to not get on mine at home.  I try to chime in once and a while during my lunch. (like now) Peggy
