no restriction, but something is there...
Last night after supper (might of ate a little more then I should have) felt fine, then after about an hour thought I was going to blow !!! for lunch today, I had a piece of leftover broccoli crusted pizza, some broc and a few pieces of left over grilled chicken, first bite !! OUCH, something is stuck. ouch... I don't think I chewed well... I might not have any restricktion, but there is something that keeps reminding me that all isn't the way it used to be.... I must continue to be careful when chewing. I still miss my drink at my meals....
I don't know how you are gong to be but my father and I can not do leftovers they are too dry for us. No matter what we do to them we can't have it a second time. Chicken for me is a touchy thing it has to be very moist or it gets stuck not matter how well I chew or chop it up. I got stuck before my first fill with chicken. I does hurt. You may have chewed well but may have taken one too many bites That is usually my problem I don't always know when to stop. or I do and want just one more and regret it. That is what my tool inside of me is for to remind me why I did this and put me back on track for when I fall off, because I am only human and I wil make mistakes from time to time hopefully not too many times

yea, dito what Ruth said, I am very thankful you are here to share your experiences with your band. I can see how the chicken would affect you, I"ll have to watch out for that. how long before or after did your Dad have his wls? how is he doing? I have left side pains off and on, I think its when I need to have a BM, but boy, seems like I need to BM often.????
I had my band 1 year ago TODAY!!!! and my dad had his 9-4-07 . We both started our journey at the same time but our nut approved me first then him. We have lost just about the same amount of weight. Of course men loose faster than women. He has a 10cc band and I have a 7cc band. We both have 1 1/4cc in our bands. I would like to have more put in my band. I go to portland on June 3 and I hope they will put some in chances are she will only do 1/2cc, I will try for more. Anyways I did have left side pain for a long time after, you are still fresh out of surgery my pain lasted much longer than that it was months , it was one of the last things to stop hurting, even now every once in a while it will hurt for no reason that I know of. Have a GREAT weekend ~~~~~ Linda
thank you Linda, that was very interesting. I think it is cool how you both are doing it together. I also go in on June 3rd, I HOPE I get a fil, I won't feel anything i'm sure, but it is one step closer. Do you know why the side pain?? just curious... Same Dr. why did he choose a different size band?? have a good weekend too... Cheryl
The side pain is probably because of all the work they did with the port they had to stich it in place. He did not choose the size band that is the size the Dr. put in. probably because of the size he was or the size of stomach? Not really sure how she picks what size to put in. I did feel something on my first fill. You may too. I was also given a card to show at restaurants to be able to order a child size if I ever wanted to. All Lap Bands and RNYs get the card. I also have a card to keep track of how much cc I have in my band and a card in case of an emergency so they know I have a band in me. I have a medi bracelet to have done but need to know what to have written on it. ~~~~~ Linda
Great Information! do restaurants accept that card? I prob. wouldn't use it, if I had to order hot dogs or grilled cheese, I'll just bring home the left overs. I hope I feel something at my first fill too, anything!! would love to sit down and talk to both you and your Dad. maybe someday. thanks again, my dh has golf on wed and thurs. I am finding im in a munchie mood more on those days. I need to find something to do, talk to you soon, cheryl
I don't use the card a whole lot because the kids meals have mostly bread things and I can't do bread. But when we go to Dudleys for Breakfast they take it there I don't eat much , but I go because my son likes it there. Some Wed or Thurs my family and I will have to drive up and go see you. Ruth met them at Bates not too long ago . I get the munchie mood too it is very normal every goes thru it . If people say they don't they are not telling the truth to you or to themselves. Just like if they say they will never have junk food now that they have had WLS that is impossible to do no one can ever not cheat if it was possible they wouldn't of needed to have WLS. ~~~~ Hope to see you soon Linda
