OK, so tomorrow makes two weeks since my surgery and I must say for the most part the weight loss has been the one thing that has kept my spirits up in spite of the liquid diet.  So I weighed 220.2 yesterday and was so hoping to be under the 220s today.  I got on the scale and I weighed 221 AHHHHHHHHHHH!  I know this is the sign that i should stop weighing everyday, but I feel like any weight loss even 2/10ths of a lb. is somehow reaffirming that I made the right decision to have this surgery.  I feel like I have so many time in the past.  I work my butt off to lose.  Do everything by the book and still either GAIN or stay the same.  I thought this would be different.  I know there are stalls and what not but I am less than two weeks out!!!  I'm really struggling here.  I make meals for my daughter all day and for my husband at night without so much as licking my fingers and I GAIN.  I know it's 8/10ths of a lb. but gaining anything is so discouraging.  Plus, I have that wedding I told you guys about tomorrow and I was hoping to give the doubters a little...see how well I'm doing!!..... I'm not physically hungry, but I'm dying for some real food, although the soups do help.  ANYWAY...sorry just had to vent.

oh, keela honey, you probably need a good poop... sorry TMI, one day up might be as little as jus****er, I can almost bet it will go back down by tomorrow morning, and I'm sure no one will notice you gainned 2/10th of a lb at the wedding... relax, and yes, don't weigh in every day, have your DH, hide that thing.... you'll be just fine, have a fun time this weekend. It is very normal the first few weeks to stay the same or gain weihgt.  My mom came home from surgery and was up 4 pounds from after her bowel prep.  Your body is in shock first of all.  Plus a lot has to do with the flids in your body and retaining it.  I weigh myself daily (because I would never be able to NOT do it), but I only count it on Monday mornings.  I will weigh the same exact weight for 5 days in a row then BAM...2 pound loss in one day.  As your body adjusts it will start to drop right off.  Scientifically it is not possible to not be losing.  3500 calories is a pound.  Our bodies use a ton a day just to function and you are not getting in nearly what your body needs.  You will likely see it before it shows on the scale.  While frustrating hang in there.  I promise it will start to drop off.

Hey Keela, hang in there (I'm telling myself this too as I've gained 1.5 lbs in the past 2 days! And I am exercising like there is no tomorrow and following our nut's guidelines...with no snacking, etc!)  It does get very frustrating!  I TOTALLY hear ya!  I know there are stalls...and if you're like me....patience is not my greatest asset!  Like everyone else has said....it will come off...how can it not with the little we are eating/drinking?  (DH tells me I am gaining cause of muscle..  haha....I don't see that! But ...Whatever, I guess!)  Hang in there.....I'm hanging with you!!!!!!  hugs and honks!   Ruth

Ditto!!! Everyone else has said it best!! Don't be a scale slave...the scale is the least of the indicators on how you are doing. How do you feel?? Don;t let the number dictate the mood you are in for a wonderful day of health and healing. you are only 2 weeks out, there is still lots and lots of healing your body needs to do. Which requires healing fluids Which means temp stalling Like the girls have said, it isn't possible that you won't lose. It is possible, however that you won't lose as fast as YOU WANT TO...LOL Hang in there girl and have a great time at the wedding!! kate

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

Could just be fluid weight. If you are having soups check the labels that could be your culprit right there especially if you retain fluid easily.
