OT: what you think about this replacement?

ok, so with all the repairs going on at my house, we have removed our front door. NOW, we have this large space between our windows and we need something to fill the void. BUT, I was going to plant a tree, but we have a metal roof and I'm affraid when the snow falls, and when it falls it FALLS.... it will just kill the crap out of it.
