Not sure we are comparing apples to apples here....sorry! But, I'm getting about 400-500 calories a day (mostly from the protein drinks..since I just started purees yesterday!) I'm getting at least 60g of protein (usually more) and all my liquids (though I might not make it today since I was at the dentist for so long). Since you haven't had a fill yet, you're probably doing fine....just my opinion, and what do I know? hehehe Hope some other banders answer for you!!!!! honks! Ruth
According to Dr Loggins book we get From time of surgery to 2 months post op the calorie range is typically between 400 and 600 a day From 2 to 6 months calorie range between 600 and 800 and 6 months to a year 800 to 1000 calories a day a year and on normally 1000 to 1200 but varies with each person. Pages 61 to 63 in the nutritional guidelines book. Cheryl I still only get maybe 600 a day. I am honestly not sure but I would think the guidelines should be similar just because we have different tools doesn't mean diets should be that varied right? You may be getting to much but call Corinne if you are unsure.
I believe it possible can be that different, I don't have a small pouch and would be very hungry on just that. although when I do get my fill, that would be a different story. I really don't think I could go on 400 to 600 a day. Corinne did say, the book was all for RNY tho, I think it is time for an update for other surgeries D. Loggins does and will be doing. Stages4 & 5 are combined for me. yoo hoo, hehe, I can't wait, I think my chicken leg is in there....I did believe the two are different, but, I just wanted to know how much different.
I have some in the freezer and I won't cook it cause I know i"ll loose control. my son came home friday night with one of those little roasters. OMG, it took everything I had, and Friday was my worst night, as far as hunger. after 2 days in fridge I threw it in a pot and made some soup with it, it was also tough taking the meat off the bones. but I did it.
