WW
ok, instead of AA i've renamed my additiction to WW "Weight Waiting" I can't wait every morning to jump on the scale. but my problem is after I dropped the 6 l.bs i gainned in hosp. I havn't dropped a lb. since. that's just not right. how a body can take in such little calories and hold on to the weight. my DH is threatning to throw the Damn thing Outside. Ruth how did you loose 19 lbs in 2 weeks. your amazing.
I went through it too. All we hear is calories in calories out. So I am always like...I get hardly any calories, I am exercising, drinking water...what the heck is going on?! But you will notice how you look changing and how you fit in your cloths changing. My weightloss changes, but it has been averaging around 2.5 per week. Which I am not complaining about....but it seems low in comparison to other diets I have done before. BUT I look and feel better in my clothes than when I was on those other diets. So although the scale is moving pretty slow.....my body is changing pretty fast. So I realized I just have to use the scale to monitor (and because I am addicted and can't help it), but to really go by the clothes etc.
Everyone is different though. But I bet the inches are coming off more.
Cheryl! Keep your chin up! It WILL come off! I think most of what I've lost was surgical gain and fluid! I agree with Tanya that it seems slow compared to other diets, but I have to keep reminding myself that the ways I lost weight before were not always healthy! And!! This time!! the weight will stay off....if I do what I'm supposed to do! This IS a journey, and most journeys are not completed in just a day or a week! Just gotta keep our eyes on the prize and know that this weight that took us all of our lives to put on will not disappear overnight! (I know..many others have said that before...but it IS true!) I am a slave to the scale too and I hate getting on to see that it hasn't moved...but I KNOW this is going to happen and I keep preparing myself for the week..or month...that it happens! Just keep doing what you are doing..follow the guidelines our nut gave us, exercise, water! It'll work! honks for you Cheryl! Ruth
Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl! haha...I don't really consider myself losing slowly NOW! But, I know it WILL slow! Just keep an eye on our goals and do what we're supposed to do! This will work, our bodies have to adjust, heal, and figure out how best to utilize the nutrients we are giving it! You'll be fine! honk honk honk!!!!!!
hehe, i know, I'm just teasing. I'm am trying not to compare myself with you "RNY" girls and compare myself to my fellow, chubby girls friends who are where I used to be, gainning and being stressed out. I was there, now I''m at a new place which will, even if slow, be much better, and healtier. does that make any sence?? I'm lucky to be where I'm at. just need to work it.... WHERE's THE SUN???? gonna pour tonight i hear, just get it out of the way for Friday. hey, Ruth, just got an email from a friend of ours trying to sell his sox tickets, haha, 2 ticks starting at $350.00. Great seats tho, foul ball territory, close to grass, i'm anxious to see what he end up with. I'm hiding the email from the guys here. they probably would jump on it. silly men????
hang in there cheryl. you're surgery is very different from ours and is also known for being a slower loser. it will come off. just be patient. you've had major surgery and your body is adjusting. once the sugar has burned off as energy it knocks on the fat stores for energy and that method is not as efficient as burning sugar. so, your body needs to adjust to using fat as energy. that's why it's so important to get your protein so your body doesn't use your tissues and muscles as energy.
it will come off!
it will come off!
Well Cheryl, I have not really expected to loose weight right off the bat. I am assuming that will come once they do a fill. I don't know if they showed you the x-ray from the swallow test, but it doesn't seem that the liquid stops at all right now, so it will go all the way down to the bigger part of the stomach. I can only say, just take your time with the drinking. I am finding it hard to get all the fluids in for the day. I still haven't felt like eating anything. I had some split pea soup very thinned and purreed at lunch today, and it is doing nothing but making my belly grumble. I do wish they would do the fill faster to make the pouch smaller. Believe me though, I am looking to a chicken leg on the grill!
JIll, your lucky, I wish I wasn't feeling like eating, I'm ready to join in with the dog and start begging. lol. i'm getting all my water/milk/crystal lite and about 800 cal, and 60 or more proteins in one day, no problem. I can't wait for my fill too, I don't trust myself, especially if that chicken leg comes walking by... do you sip? if not does it do something? don't for me? I hope i don't hurt anything....
