How much weight should we be losing a week.  I have only lost 2 pounds this week.  I am so tired I can hardly get out of my own tracks.   I am basically still just having my shakes, and popsicles.   I have tried to eat  eggs and they won't go down.   How are others  doing  that had surgery around the same time I did.  Also What is everyone eating and are you able to get all of your fluids in daily and are you real tired.

hello, maybe its just me, but I think loosing 2 lbs is great, besides you are just a few weeks out. give your body time to heal, if your are healing and loosing, can you see why you'd be so tired???? Your body is on overdrive, give it time.  you will be fine.  honk honk  cheryl

Phew, I was beginning to think it was just me!! It has taken me 3 weeks to feel like I am human, and I currently in a stall, weight wise for almost a week, now... I have been going to bed a 8, get snappy and out of sorts everynight about 8 sooooooooo I'd say we are normal!!!LOL These youngsters that have had the surgery just pop back a little quicker!! I am on pureed food, the least fav stage OMG it is aweful, but having no difficulty with the shakes, still my mainstay.  I had trouble with scrambled eggs, too, just tried egg beaters and had better luck. Boy, I sure miss the toast that goes with them tho, oh and the bacon!! You are doing fine, make sure you concentrate on the protein and the fluids, and your protein shakes count toward fluids...keep sf jello around, I am not a big fan of the pudding. YOU ARE HEALING, dont ask too much of your body yet(I am talking to myself, here, too!!) It has been rearranged and beaten up, love it...don't get mad... Hugs an honks. k

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

Kate----what are you having for the pureed stage?  I actually enjoyed my pureed stage (anything to get off shakes), SO MAYBE i HAVE A FEW THINGS THAT MIGHT HELP.  Here are some recipes that I loved (got online throughout the forums) Ricotta Fluff Stuff 1 large container of ricotta cheese 1 package SF Jello cheesecake pudding a dollop or 2 of sour cream ( I didn't use the sc though and it was fine) Mix together and enjoy with fruit or right out of the bowl. Soft Lasagna (my favorite) Put 1/4 cup ricotta in a bowl, add some low sugar spaghetti sauce (like a tablespoon or so), then top with some shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan.  Microwave for like 30 seconds or so until the cheese is melted). It really does taste like lasagna, just without the noodles.  And you could add some fresh basil too even) Refried Bean Dish I put 1/4 cup fat free refried beans in a bowl.  Topped with reduced fat mexican shredded cheese, nuked for a minute or so and then topped with some light sour cream or some salsa.  I also did some crab and a tad of light mayo in a food processor---came out like a dip and was high in protein, low in calories and pureed.  I know Lisa tried the crab and it didn't sit well with her, I lived on it for a week ha ha.

I was pretty tired at first, but once I started taking my iron (after my 2 week appointment) I started feeling much better.  I think once you hit week 3 things start to settle in.  I had a hard time with my fluids at first, now it is easy peasy....so it does get easier.  As for how much per week.  It changes every week for me.  A lot has to do with your body being in shock at the beginning and adjusting.  It will start coming off more soon...hang in there!

hang in there. what you are going thru is normal. it does get better with time and you just had major surgery. don't push yourself too hard and don't worry about the loss so far. it will come off.

Okay so I had surgery around the same time as you only a year ago.  What you are going through is absolutely normal.  You just had major surgery and your body is healing.  Give it time...I know easier said than done!!  As for the food try some of eggface's recipes she has a whole bunch of suggestions, especially shake ideas.  http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ And try Charlie's site too.  If you like Pumpkin pie look under the recipes for "Holiday" and I believe it's listed under desserts as Pumpkin Fluff.  If you can't find it let me know and I will copy & paste it to you.  whipped topping Mix together with a spatula now add 1 small container of whipped topping It will get better
