good morning everyone, here I am alone, everyone gone back to their lives, I sit with my puppy. I didn't get that great of sleep, slept on reclyners last night, tummy still very sore. I'm not hungry, forced myself to eat a pudding this morning, cause I was nausious. I actually felt much better on first day in hospital. just took my shower and gave my shot, time for a break...I weighed myself your right, I gainned 6 lbs. and I felt more bloated yesterday so, i'm sure it was more. next time I get up, i'll get dressed, will walk to mailbox for paper and sit outside. nothing sounds good to eat, every thing seems gross.
Well as hard as today is, you know it will get better and better every day, Cheryl That's the beauty of this group who have shared their experiences with us all. In a day or two you will be your perky old self and you'll be out there planting your garden and relishing how easy it is to get up and down off your knees. What a great summer you may look forward to, my friend. Be easy on yourself! Honk! Honk! You're on the bench!
Cheryl! HONK! I know the first day is tough! You'll probably be sore for a bit, but it DOES get better! I'm still having to force myself to drink...I'm just not hungry! Are you allowed soft/pureed foods? (You lucky dog, if you are!!!!) I'm not sure how your diet is different from ours
Keep your chin up GIRLIE! It'll be better! You won't remember this later this summer when we are shopping for those itty bitty clothes!!!! hehehe
hugs....Ruth

Just keep those fluids going that is the most important part at your stage in the game. I made protein drinks that tasted like Creamsicles sort of anyway vanilla protein with sugar free orange koolaid and splenda. they were pretty tasty. And I put non fat dry milk in my soup broth soooo much better than putting protein in it and getting that Whey taste, Hang in there Cheryl.
The Friday after my surg everyone left me alone and I was devastated. What I discovered is how much of my time was devoted to FOOD...what is in the house, what to bake, make, grab for a snack, oh look cheese and crackers, ah a spoonful of PB and on and on. Home now, with food totally not my focus, I am amazed at how much time I have to do other things.
The first few days, I couldn't read, couldn't concentrate so spend time watching mindless TV, walked up and down my street-just the top of the hill to get the gas moving and tried to sip sip sip. You are easily bored, I think, because you are such a go getter, this recup time is going to be hard for you, but you must do it. If you do too much you will not like the results..
So relax, for once, put yourself first, understand you have had surgery!!!!!!!!!!!! and it will take a little time. You are going to be sore, and pissed, and nauseous. It will be ok, I promise...
hugs and honks to you.

96 lbs lost and gone forever!! To God goes the Glory!
Finally it moved!
Hey Cheryl, I feel about the same as you today. It is funny how I cannot feel hungry after not eating since Saturday. I weighed myself as well, and yes about 6 lbs gained. I am sure it is just fluid retention. I will go for a walk in a little while, but feel very bloated and pained today. I am sure tomorrow will be better.
