sippin! woohoo!
OMG! What a relief it was to be in my own bed last night! I was even able to sleep on my side (which is my favorite!) TMI..sorry! Hardly any pain, except for that gas moving around, but the more I walk around the house, the more it moves, which is a good thing! I've already showered, taken vitamin, prevacid, and lovenox will be at 9 (silly nurse yesterday didn't give have me take it until 11, so I have to slowly move the time back to where I want it...this morning will be at 9, tonight I can move it to 8, and then tomorrow am I can have it at 7 and get it all over with at the same time!) The shots are easy! Took my shower this morning! OOOHHHH..how good that felt! I lost SSSOOOOO much hair tho! oh well! No biggie! Now I'm sippin! Not too bad! Now, the worst things I am dealing with are frakin TAPE residue all over my hand from the IV sites! I worked at it in the shower and since. Any ideas how to get the last of it off without having to use sandpaper??? haha... ANYWAY! Welcome home to Peg and Jackie! Glad you both are doing so well! THANK YOU !!!! to everyone here! Your thoughts, prayers, hugs, and honks were heard by more than just me! Dr L even said something about how loved I was with all the cards I received! (He happened to be in the room when they were delivered Tuesday morning!) So, thanks..and have a great, restful day! (BTW.... I gained 6 pounds by having surgery! hahaha!) honks! Ruth
wow Ruth, gainned 6 lbs. you shouldn't have picked that pork chop/mashed potato saline bag. you will loose that by tomorrow. so shot wasn't bad, good, glad to hear pain isn't too bad. did they give you another script at hospital for pain? so that means another stop at pharmacy? why dont' they just give it to us when we get all the other stuff...wow, loosing hair already??? hmmmm ....my little man goes away tomorrow morning for a week, so It will be good to get my brain and self all organized. so much to remember, need to remember to call respite today, and hospital tomorrow, well, enjoy your sipping, i'm going outside to do a little yard cleaning, junk left behind by carpenter, now snow is meling our yard looks like a junk yard, I HATE MESSES>>>>>have a great day, happy your ok...

it does feel great to be home. it's much more quiet and you can do things at your own pace. i really wished i had gotten my pain meds ahead of time though. i had to find a pharmacy open in the evening on my way home. i really needed them when i got them too. i took them at the pharmacy counter! take it easy and rest. don't worry about the tape. mine finally wore off in a week or so. didn't matter how much i scrubbed either. it's like cement or something.
I guess because the pain med is a narcotic/controlled substance, they aren't allowed to give us the script for it ahead of time, which is a bummer. I only took some last night to make sure I could sleep, but not sure I'll need it tonight! Will play it by ear! Guess I'll just have to grin and bear the tape residue! My dad offered his power sander! hahaha! What a guy! I think I'll just wait it out! Ruth
At my 2 week, I scored some adhesive tape removal from John! Worked pretty good, so I am now tape residue free!!
Sounds like you are doing soooooooooooooooo well, Ruth, good for you!! THe shower is the best part. I feel as tho you all are doing things alot quicker than this ol' gal did, and I guess that makes sense.
The 9 pounds I gained FREAKED me out, had to read my wls for dummies to figure that one out, almost went off on someone!!!! But then, went to sleep instead...haha.
i did walk onthe second day home and that fel t good to move, didn't have any trouble with gas at all, so that was even better. Right now I am dealing with the infamous pain in the left side, thing. Pretty painful compared to everything else.
Anyeay, don't try to do too much, even if you think you are feeling great, you are post op and not just home from work...ok???
love, hugs, and honks

Finally it moved!
Oh, that's right! I forgot about the pain on the left side! Hope that clears up for you quickly Kate! I am not doing much today! Sippin, walking inside right now, and will prolly get outside in a little while just in the yard! I'm not even gonna do the kids breakfast dishes! So there..take that! They can do them when they get home! haha Thanks for the advice! I'll listen! Ruth
Just got a call from Dr Loggins office to see how I was making out at home. That's cool! If you gals are interested, I've put some long posts on my blog about the whole surgery experience. It's kinda long and rambling..and there are some "holes" in my memory. But that's my story and I'm sticking to it! hahaha (Can you tell I'm bored?)
