I went for my Pre op meeting today, saw the whole gang.  but was suprised to Hear Dr. Loggins' first comment when he walked in.  he said "ok, we have a Lap Band here, first thing I suggest is I don't recommend surrounding yourself with RNY'ers.... I was how come?  and he said you need to be strong and totally understand they will be loosing alot faster then you, and it can be very depressing.  I totally understand why he said that, but little does he know my bigges support HOnks and hugs comes from all you RNY'ers.... I might need to be reminded now and then but I feel like I am in the best hands any one can be in with you all.... so Thanks, Hugs and Honks....

We are sooo here for you.  This is a journey for all of us and we need eachother no matter which surgery someone has.  Also you've made lifelong friends here because we are on this path together for life, all of us.  So stick with us and we've got your back!

I don't think the surgery matters that much as far as the loss goes. If you follow the same eating and exercise plan all surgeries are equal as far as I am concerned. It is all in what you are confy with and decide is best for you. You are so right Cheryl we have a unique group here and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. So go to the lap band board when you need questions answered that are band specific but come here for the extra honks you can't get anywhere else.

What is in common is weight loss surgery!! WE all get the differences, you choose Lap for specifically becuase you would do this slowly, that is what you were comforatable doing...So along the way you have met some new friends who are determined to be healthy with you and nudge you if needed, and rejoice with your successes and hugs and honks for encouragement when necessary. The way I see this???It's all good!!   hugs! k

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

Cheryl, I can't imagine going through this without ALL of you!  We are all doing this for our health!  Don't think it matters how we get there, as long as we are all working towards that common goal!   A LONG HEALTHY LIFE!  You know we'll be here for you!!  honks and hugs!  Ruth
