MIA
Hello everyone. I see a lot of new faces here. I am 5 yrs post op and use to spend a lot of my time on the OH message boards. I have been MIA for a while but I am back, hoping to get some of the smae support I use to get. Unfortunately, I started gaining some of the weight back and now have about 50 lbs to lose. I am finding it so unbelievable hard because I have NO will power and can pretty much eat anything. I have tried going on a liquid diet for a couple days to kind of "reset" my body but the will power gets me every time. Any bit of advice?

WELCOME BACK!
Hi Missy so glad you are here! From all my research and everything I continue to read and from people I know and what I see! MANY people GAIN yes we all hate that word, 10 % of there body weight BACK after 18-24 months.. So why are we so surprised when we see it happen? Its been studied. BUt.. we know our bad habits creep up on us. We are human we fall BUT WE GET UP! First of all awesome for you to go back to where your support is ! Excellent start! this is a life long process. we just dont lose and all is ok forever we have to fight forever... ............ thanks for reminding me!
I have a cousin, a close cousin that is about 2 and half years out and has gained 50 lbs, very quickly too, mind you she LOST 170lbs. but 50 of it has come back, she has fallen into the bad habits she knows- like stopped exercising, stop drinking water and started grazing, all together spells trouble for many.. shes just starting over , the stages.. increasing the water, starting exercise again and facing it head on. Start journaling the food intakes, (not my favorite either) but works.. make sure your not missing vitamins. and start slowly!!! YOu've already started by coming for support! HONK HONK! and so glad to have you! p.s. one of her huge down falls, was getting into the caffenine, coffee, all day long.
instead of water and decaf fluids. A combination of little things do make a difference, as they did when we first began.. they do now.
I have heard the liquid pouch reset works well, I havent done it yet, but I should as even being just a few months out I want to keep my restrictions tight,, and I already feel like I can eat too much, going from teeny weenie portion and liquid to a cup of salad greens is overwhelming,
Welcome back aboard and try getting into a LIVE support group because I have found we sure need each other! to learn from all stages..
Scented Blessings

Hello, Missy, you certainly have come to the right spot, you have much more experience then most of us, here, which will be a great asset to our already wonderful group. lots of us are just beginning, a few are old timers, but all are truly a great support system.. Good luck, and welcome back.... CHeryl
Hi Missy,
Gee i am just starting losing, I hate to think about regaining...but...from all that I have read, jump starting by going back to 60-80 gr of protein, 64 oz of water, watch your carb loading, walking or increasing whatever exercise you are doing now...
You did it once-170# holy!!!!!!!!!! You have the skills it is just waking them up again!!
I am gald you are here, you will help inspire us all!!
hugs and honks of encouragement.

Hi Missy,
Welcome back to the boards. From what I have read a lot of people try the 5 day pouch test. I actually started it today to detox my body of carb cravings. Once you let those little devils in they can wreak havoc. About an hour ago I didn't think I would make it thru the day but I had some sugar free jello and then some water and got rid of that evil feeling, so maybe I can make thru today and tomorrow then I can have soft protein.
If you need more info on pouch test just do a search for it online and it will come right up. Congratulations on taking back control of your life. You can do it and we are here to help you if you need it.
Welcome back to the board Missy Mae.
Sorry about your weight gain.
I also suggest the 5 day pouch test like Ronda said.
That and upping your exercise and water. Even if it's just walking.
Walk & drink, walk & drink and walk & drink some more.
Also another suggestion is don't buy the 'junk". If you don't have it on hand it's harder to eat it.
Eat lots of protein and maybe start back up with the shakes or protein bars. I never stopped. I just recently switched from shakes to bars for something different. I do notice the shakes filled me up more than the little bar does but the protein bar is so easy to eat anywhere, I may switch back tho.
Good luck with losing your regain.
