This prep is getting to me!  I've been in bed with a sweatshirt, tshirt, socks, sweatpants on, the heated mattress pad turned up to 8 and 3 blankets over me for the past two hours!  I'm getting up just to go potty...and dreading it each time cuz I'm sooooo cold!  I've been trying to walk around, but it's kinda hard with a huge blanket wrapped around me too!  haha    Oh well...this too shall pass!  Thanks for letting me vent!  (Going back to the wamrth of my bed!)  Ruth

I'm much better now!  Am able to walk more and not freezing anymore!  Still cold, but at least my lips aren't blue!  haha  It'll all be worth it!  Ruth

Yeah, this is pretty normal... TOmorrow tomorrow oh my goodness it's tomorrow!!! I will wake up and Peg will be done and jackie and Ruth waiting to be wheeled.   ooooooooosooooooooooooo excited for you. I am cold and hot now, Corinne told me something I hadn't read...that we store hormones in our fat cells and as the cell "gives up" the fat, the hormones are what cause the crazy emotional rollercoaster and hot and cold. huh.

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

I know! I fear I will finally have hot flashes after surgery. I stopped my periods nearly five years ago and can count on two hands the number of very mild warm flashes I have had since. I was told the same thing, we hold the estrogen in our fat stores and often don't experience those hormonal changes. I was quite thrilled actually, but I guess I may have that to look forward to, huh? O joy!

I had read that about the hormones somewhere! hmmm...I already warned DH to bear with me as I might be a "bear"!  haha     Less than 12 hours left for me to wait!!  I don't think I'm gonna sleep much tonight!     Thanks everyone!  Ruth

What is it about the prep that is making you so cold? I don't understand!

I'm really not sure what causes it, but I did the same thing when I had to do the prep for the colonoscopy too!  I guess it doesn't affect everyone like that...I'm just one of the lucky ones! haha      I have been cold for the past few months anyways, but this is different...it's like shivering cold and just can't get warm no matter what you do!  Anyways..it's over now and I'm back to my baseline of just "cold"!  I can deal with that!  Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else if they have to do "the prep"!  It's not much fun! (It IS cool when the kids wanna snuggle with you to get you warm though!) Have a great evening!  Ruth
