HI all just thought I would write again and tell you all what is going on NOW...But first just wanted to thank you all to *****sponded to my last post, I really appreciate all your support...You all are really wonderful people...Well my oldest son complained of belly pain on tuesday evening and wasn't feeling good Wednesday so I kept him home from school....He had diarrhea during the day and had a bad belly ache...I had an appointment with my other son that day with his Dr. so I asked if there was a bad stomach bug going around and she said yes, and I said cause he is bent over in pain...She said yes its been pretty painful cramps, diarrhea, vomitting, chills...So I felt a little relieved...Well come Thursday afternoon he was still not doing better so I was not going to wait any longer cause the pain was in his right side mostly so I was beginning to think it might be his appendics...So I drove him down to Maine General in Waterville and sure enough, they didn't even want to take the time to do a cat scan of his stomach, cause he had all the signs, even a protruding stomach...Well so they took him into emergency surgery, and yes his appendics had already burst...The poor little guy never shed a tear or acted nervous, he was in so much pain he just wanted it gone...Well that was Thursday night and I stayed all night with him and Dad just stayed all night Friday night...He is still in a lot of pain and was vomitting some pretty nasty stuff up but hopefully he is on the road for recovery...OH by the way they are my stepsons and then we have a little girl together, but I dont consider them step sons...I treat them as if they were my own and do not think of it any other way...Okay now thats off my chest, thanks for listening or rather reading...Its been a mixed up mess traveling back and forth a half hour each way with two other kids and switching off between the two of us, but we manage...Angela

Angela, I'm so sorry to hear about your son but thankfully you got him in before it became toxic.  Take care ~ wish I lived closer so I could help out.  I've been in the same situation with one at home and one in the hospital.   Praying for a quick recovery!!!

OMG Angela!  So glad they were able to take care of it before it got worse!  It's amazing what kids can tolerate!  Glad he is on the road to recovery!  Keep your chin up!  I can't be there in person to help you out but know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!  Tell your son to heal up fast!  Ruth

Angela,  Wow your poor son.  And for a parent one of the worst feelings is not being able to "make it better" but having to trust someone else.  I am glad that they took care of it so fast.  Best of luck with his healing and get rest when you can. Peggy

wow what a scary experience. i'm glad you paid attention to all his symptoms. my cousin's burst and her parents had no idea. she hardly complained. she also needed emergency surgery. she's doing great today so i'm sure your son will be ok too. hang in there. you're being a great mom.
