I am excited!         Got on the scale this morning and had met the pre-surgery goal I had set for myself!       Doc wanted me to lose 25...I wanted to double it! (Ambitious person that I am...always gotta push and do just a little more!  Not always my best quality!)  So...I met my goal...4 days early!  WOOHOO!   Just glad that surgery is soon and I will be able to keep it off this time!                         Anyways...need everyone's opinion!  DH wants me to wait until I've lost a bunch of weight before I get my hair cut into a new style and do the whole "make over" thingy. (not that I have a style now as my hair is pretty long and I usually just tie it back) BUT...I was thinking about getting it cut much shorter this weekend so it will be easier to deal with in the hospital. (btw: I am eating 70-100g of protein daily and I've started losing hair already...I think it's because it's so long and thick!)     SO.....what do you all think?  Cut it now or cut it later?   I'll go with the majority!

I did not want to deal with long hair at the hospital so I cut mine (I also got it highlighted at that time because the anstiga (sp?) does things to your hair and can make the chemicals do weird stuff if you try to color or perm too soon after.

I have not  cut mine and it is  quite long and very very thick.   It is thinning but my hairdresser said i could lose a lot more and never be noticied  so i elected not to cut it. personal choice  i guess.  you are doing wonderful and will be on the postop losersbench very soon  you already on the   loserbench woo hoo

I just cut mine into a new style on Tuesday.  I needed a change as my body is changing.  It's simple, stacked in the back, sort of bobbish-a la Katie homes in the front.  It is so nice to go to the gym and not deal with much hair!  I say go for it!

I would say go ahead and get it cut but wait to have it styled when you have lost a bunch more.

For me ...on the one hand I know I could just put my hair in a pony tail or clip in the hospital ....I would be stressed with a short cut and not be able to style it .  I am so happy for you having such a great loss before surgery...I will have to lose 53# and I don't know if I can even do the 25 that you had to lose.  Your DH may have a good thought. After losing more weight and getting your routine and food down and energy back....a Make over would be just the thing.... Best wishes on your decision....

Hi... I think I'd wait till later on and do the Make-over.  But, you could always compromise and cut it half as short as you would really want it now and then go back and have it cut and styled later.  Just a thought.  Have fun either way! ~Julie~

Ruth, congrats for the weight loss.  About the hair, I would cut a little now to make it more managable, but then when you are almost at goal you can get a whole new style to compliment your new skinny face!  My opinion...I'll be praying for you on Monday!!!  Good Luck.
