dilema
Hi all, just got off the phone with my dr office. They changed my surgery date!!!!! I am now having surgery on May 15th. No big right? wrong...My little girl is the flower girl in a wedding on the 23rd!!! i don't want to wait till June so i have no choice but to chance it. Do you guys think I'll be able to do it? My husband can do all the lifting and stuff, basically I can do her hair (no biggy) and go to the wedding and come home. I really don't want to miss it, but I'm afraid i won't be well enough to go. I usually recovery very quickly from surgery, I was up and about the day after my c -section with some pain, but really no problem so I'm hoping this will be the same. Help.....

Are you having laproscopy or open? Lap was a piece of cake for me......even if it's open....the worst that can happen is you can't go. Disapointing yes, but if this isn't a close relative or friend I would chance it. Only those here can know just how important this will be to you...... (you can always call your Dr.'s office and ask them to keep you in mind in the event someone cancels with a date that might be better for you, who knows, maybe there will be something that comes up earlier. It's what I did.....) Best case senario....you get thru the surgery just fine and feel great enough to see your little girl in action!
Remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over!

if you are having lap it should be ok. i drove after 1 week. shouldn't have but felt ok enough to. have your dh drive you and take pain meds before and during if you need to. don't overdo as you don't want to mess things up but go at least to the wedding part and if you're wiped out at that point go home. i'm sure you will be ok. it will tire you out though so expect to spend the rest of your day in bed. make sure to bring water with you so you can still sip, sip sip
I wouldn't stress, especially since you have recoved easily from surgery before. This was nothig lik my c-section recovery!
By 2 weeks out I was feeling super, barely even noticed I had surgery. The first week was tough, then all of the sudden end of week 2 I was in full motion---exercising, taking care of babies no problem.
Everyone is different, but I wouldn't worry.
Keela,
I am a week out and I am sure I could manage a wedding where all I had to do my dgt's hair-of course she and the bride would have hated it cause I am soooo bad at doing hair....but....I think it will be ok. I am walking 40 minutes a day, 20 minutes at a time...just vacumned a little, I know I know, wasn't supposed to, but did it ok? I am up dressed, shot, vitamined, previcid, and have started my first shake by 9am, with no help...
hope that helps....
It was magic when she realized who she had become...
