I have seen on another message board that usually between the 3rd-6th week post op that you start to feel good......does this hold true with the open procedure as well?

Becky, I"m sorry, but i'm confused, I have a question for you.  Why, if you had the same dr. did you have to wait till Fall to get the Lap RNY, but had the Open now??? doesn't that take longer in the OR? I just don't get it, sorry.  If the dr. was available now why didn't he just do the lap??

sorry for the confusion,  two different doctors. Dr. Clough only does the open procedure and Dr.Toder does that Lap.  Dr. Toder is the one that would of taken until fall. She only does 2 medicare patients a month( as of now anyway).

Becky glad to hear you are home and doing good. I had dr. clough and he was great to me also.. Yes it does take about 3 weeks or so.. for me the first 3 months were alittle rough only because at first I slep in recliner and could not get comfortable in my bed for 3 weeks..then i had to learn what I could eat and couldnt.. but I felt better after about 2 weeks.. up going for rides, just go slow dont hurry it if you dont have let it heal. I will be 9months out 20th of this month and so glad I had it done.
