I was released around 4 pm bout 48 hours after my surgery was completed. I should have been up and walking first day but the anesthetic made me to sick and the anti nausea meds knocked me out. I would have your hubby call either the hospital or Dr Loggins office the day you should be released to get a definite time.

i was released around noon. my ride came about 6:30 pm. it was no problem hanging around til then.

i didn't bring my pj's but you can. not sure if you will have a drain. the nighties are comfy so probably wouldn't bring them if i had to do it over again.

you are up walking as soon as you can. i got to my room around 5:30 pm and was up walking around 11 pm. only made it to the door. then walked again around 1 am and made it thru the nurses station.

pj's - they give you a clean outfit every day as well as allow you to wash up. for rny'ers no brushing teeth because of the chance of swallowing. it may be different with the band. they also clean your bed daily.

make sure you bring chapstick. that is a must have!

hehe, LIsa, did you sleep?  sounds like you were up walking all night.  I think i'll bring my pj's just in case, I'm not sure how much different it will be for me.  I wish there was at least one Loggin's patient on here with the band.  Shelly is but I never see her on.

I was released around noon as well.  I wore their gowns and was fine with it.  I don't think I would have wanted pjs since they put those things on your legs all the time with the stockings.  So it would have been a pain to have pants on.  I am not sure about the testing for a band though.  Maybe you don't even have a leak test.

geee, I was hoping to bring a sexy nightgown.... I guess I'll have to spend one day without being sexy.     I hope to get out early, it will be just me and hubby when I get home, i'd rather be here then at hospital.  Then I'll walk around with my sexy nightie.... and since I'll be niceley shaved, new pedicure, eyebrows all primped, geee, It will just be wild....

Cheryl!  You totally crack me up!!!!!!  I love it!!!!!       I'm still hoping to get out early enough to get to the girl's softball game!  (I know, it's pushing it, but it's close to home, not much walking and all I have to do is sit there and watch!  And...I have a nice comfy chair DH can carry for me!)   I'm bringing crocs and pj's to the hospital..may not wear them, but that's just me!      Ruth

you guys are optimistic. you are having major surgery and you probably won't feel like doing much but going home, taking some pain meds and sleeping. all the power to you if you can do other things. don't push your bodies too much. you still have to heal.

cheryl, i didn't sleep much at the hospital. both of my roommates were noisy and i was near the nurses station and the buzzers were going off all the time. i tried to keep the door closed but they would keep it open.

only walked during the night the first night. dr. loggins wanted me up walking as soon as possible so it worked out that way. otherwise i did my walking during the day.

bring ear plugs. if you forget they have them there.

OH, I plan on coming straight home, but want to get home ASAP,  My hubby takes better care of me then hospital and no one will be home other then us,  which is wonderful, We don't get to be alone often.  I will probably sleep down stairs for a few nights, cause we have no bathroom upstairs and if I'm sipping all night, I'll also be peeeing all night.  I have to admit I am not good with pain med tho, and i've had many many surgeries. hope this stuff is better then the other stuff I've had in the past, I hate feeling drowsey, rather take advil, but now I"ll have to take Tylonol.  I got the liquid one.  I'll play it by ear.  Thank you for all your support.  I can't wait.   Cheryl Did I tell you about when I had my hystorectomy, the guy accross the hall from me threw up all night and sounded like a bear, my God, he was so loud, I was gagging all night long.  and they put me in the Children dept. so I hear kids crying all night.  I asked to get out a day early.  and they let me.  I think they thought I was going to jump out the windwo.
