Hi Kathy,     My blood pressue is running low, which is what my PCP thought was causing my severe dizzy spells.  Now it seems there may  be more to it.    I am getting in all the protein I need and somedays even more than what I need.  I just had a complete blood work-up in February for my 6 month follow-up with my GBP surgeon and everything looked good.  My PCP run some bloodtests 2 weeks ago and again all looked well.   So it doesn't seem to be a vitamin or protein deficiency issue.  I'm just not sure how much damage could have happened to my heart during the period of complications I had after my surgery.  I guess I'll just have to wait and see if the Cardiologist can figure out what caused these issues to start.   Blessings, Yvonne

Hi Allicca,      Wow, your "skinny" picture looks great!  How much have you lost so far?   Lookin Good!   I haven't even thought about taking a "skinny" photo yet....guess I'm still waiting to be "skinny".  LOL  I'll have to at least work on getting an updated picture posted.        I haven't heard of any patients having heart issues after surgery either, which is why I'm so confused.  I thought maybe if I posted here at the group, if there was someone who knew about that possiblity, that they'd share what they knew with me.  All I've read & heard is how much better your heart is after having surgery and losing weight.  I'm just weird I guess!  LOL     The weddings are finally over!  Whew!   Our oldest son got married on Feb. 2.  His marriage is a roller-coaster but so was their relationship before they got married.  Our youngest son got married in November and they are now expecting their first lil' one Oct. 5th.  We're excited.  They have a good relationship and will make great parents.   Jess has an ultrasound on April 29th, so we're hoping to find out the sex of the baby then.         They say Stress is hard on the heart so all my issues may just be linked to that.  Although I think I do pretty well dealing with all the stress that's constantly surrounding us, maybe my body doesn't deal with it as well as I do mentally.   Of course my PCP is telling me that I need to keep away from stress....do they ever really think that people can do that in real life?       Blessings, Yvonne

What type of heart problems are you having ????

Hi Pam,     The Nuclear Stress Test showed Ischemia in part of my heart (not getting enough blood and oxygen).        I didn't even realize that some of the things I have going on were even symptoms of a heart attac****il after I started doing some research.  The symptoms for women are different than men.        The symptoms I have going on are:  severe dizziness, low blood pressure, headaches,  some stomach pain,  episodes of anxiety (don't have a history of this), a squeezing tightness & pain in my chest so intense that it feels like it's going to burst (like squeezing a ballon until it pops) with pain and tightness generating into my back and up my neck.  The tightness is so intense that it makes it hard to breathe or even move.  But I try to keep from panicing.  Sometimes there are only a few of the symptoms happening at one time, other times it's all of them.   Often it's mild and just feels really uncomfortable, but I've had 2 really bad episodes where I wondered if they would ever end, which my PCP now feels were slight heart attacks.  In my stupidity, though, I didn't go to the hospital either time.       I made an appt. with my PCP after the first attack and the 2nd one happened at night on the day I had my Nuclear Stress Test.  At the stress test, the Dr. said my EKG looked normal (didn't have the scan results at that time), so I told myself that maybe the medication they used to stress my heart  was causing an after effect and since the Dr. had said the EKG looked okay, I thought it must be something else.  Of course I didn't want to go the hospital and look like an idiot, so I decided to just take an asprin.  The asprin did eventually help.  I called my PCP and the Stress Lab the next morning and was told the stress test med would have been out of my system by then and that I should have called an ambulance when it was going on.  My PCP was upset because I didn't go to the hospital and by the time I called her it had been too many hours to run a bloodtest to look for cardiac enzymes.  So their advice is for me at the moment is to be cautious of every little tweak I'm feeling and to go to the hospital if the symptoms get worse again.  Now I feel like I'm facing a firing squad just waiting for them to fire.  Ugh!  Like that isn't stressful!  LOL           I've looked online to see if I can find any link to gastric bypass and post-op heart issues, or a coorelation to drastic weight loss, but I haven't really found anything concrete.   I did find some info that linked a gastric leak to heart damage, but it was found within the immediate post-op period.   I'm not sure the leak I had could have done any damage.  Just some unanswered questions I have.   I'm not neccessarily trying to link the surgery with the heart issues.  Just find it curious that I didn't have any heart issues before the surgery, so I wonder if there's a link.      BTW Pam, You look great in your picture.  Was it taken recently?   Blessings, Yvonne

Hi Barb,      Your right.  Gallbladder pain can feel like your having a heart attack.  I had my gallbladder out in 2005, so no chance that that's the problem this time.  Would almost be nice if it were.   Blessings, Yvonne
