Complications 8 months out????

I'm 8 months GBP post-op as of tomorrow.  I'm now having heart issues and will be seeing a cardiologist.  My question is....Has anyone else experienced heart issues post-op when they didn't have any prior?   In most cases, GBP lowers your risk of Heart Disease and Attacks.  I just want to be sure there is no correlation between the GBP and the Heart issues I'm having, so that I'm covering all the bases when it comes to what to look for.   Thanks for your help.  I've been MIA too long.  I've missed chatting with everyone here.   Blessings, Yvonne

WElcome back Yvonne, some one was asking about you last week...?? can't rmember who.  have you asked that question on the GBP forum?  I am sorry you are having these problems.  Are they testing you to see if there is any damage?  Best of Luck to you, and please come back and chat... we love to chat...  Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,     Thank you for the welcome back.  I just had a Nuclear Stress Test done last week.  It showed that there is a part of my heart that is not getting enough blood and oxygen.  Not sure what other testing is ahead of me.       I'm glad to hear that things haven't changed here while I've been gone.  Chatting is still the "in" thing, so at least I won't have to learn a new trend!  LOL Blessings, Yvonne

Yivonne, I am sure you must be a little nervous finding out this information.  The good news is the Dr's know it and I"m sure they will do everything they can to make it better.  Now, think about the fact if they hadn't  found it, and you hadn't lost all that weight.  Your in good hands and are doing everything to make your future healthy.  what is the dr. ordering next?  Good lunk and lots of Honks from you friends...

Hi Cheryl,      My PCP has referred me to the Cardiologist for further tests, so I'm not sure what will be next.  Until then...if I have another attack I'm just suppose to call the Ambulance and go to the hospital.  Not very reassuring, but I guess all the can do at this point.  My GBP surgeon is aware of what's going on, so at least he's in the loop.   Blessings, Yvonne

Hi Barb,     I'm so happy to hear that your doing well!!   I obviously didn't know on enough wood or the right kind of wood!  LOL  Hopefully by going through all the issues I am, I'm saving someone else from having to deal with them!        I have an appt. with the Cardiologist on May 15th.  The first opening they had, but I'm on a cancellation call-list and they are hoping to get me in sooner.  Me too.  I'd like to get on with my life and stay out of Dr. offices.       My gastric bypass is doing well as far as I can tell.  Unless it's somehow related to the heart issues I'm having, which my doctor thinks may be possible.   But otherwise, I'm doing great with the bypass.  My weight had been at a standstill for a couple months until last week.  I think the slight heart attack I had last week scared the 3# off me!  LOL  I've now lost 79#.  Slow going, but at least I'm still headed in the right direction!  I can hardly believe it's been 8 months already!  Does it seem that long ago to you? Blessings, Yvonne

Wow that sounds strange to me. You are getting in enough protein during the day right?? Just thinking either you are maybe developing really low blood pressure or your body possibly needing more protein is attacking your heart. You are having blood work to check all your levels I assume if not you should suggest it.Wishing you the best of luck. Hope you feel better soon.
