Coupla questions

This has been bugging me:  I met with Corinne a few weeks ago (before approval) and she told me that since I had met my pre-op weight loss goal that I didn't need to lose anymore weight. Well, of course, I figured the more I lose now, the less I'll have to lose after surgery. So, I've lost some more, but I AM eating plenty!!  So, now my BMI is just under 40.  My question is:  My insurance can't come back and take back my authorization can they???           I'm probably fretting over nothing but I had to ask everyone's opinion.     Second:  After surgery, when I go to church, can I still receive Communion or do I have to wait until after I am into soft foods?  ( I am Catholic and we just receive a small wafer that I usually just let dissolve anyways.)    Thanks!!!!

Hi Ruth, I worried about the same thing but my surgery came so quickly after my approval.  I wouldn't sweat it. Since the Communion wafer is so small and almost completely disolves I would think you could have it immediately.  My one suggestion though would not to have the wine because it will flush the wafer and may cause some problems and being that early out the alcohol (though even a little) might be too much for your pouch to handle. But, that is my opinion other's may differ.  Have you asked Dr. Loggins?

I never have the wine anyways (just something about sharing a drink with a bunch of other people..!!  ) but thanks for reminding me!  I will probably ask at my pre-op appt just to be sure.  Thanks!

I am not sure about Loggins but with Dr Cobean, they submit to insurance your first weigh in at the center. So anything you lose from then on is bonus.

Ruth, I asked Dr. Loggins that and he said the first weight is submitted   I'd certainly be careful with the host the first couple of week, that is my biggest fear is getting stuck or having an issue in public...

No need to worry at all.  I am 99.9% positive that the weight they use is your first weight with them, not after any loss.  My friend just had her first mtg with Dr. Loggins and she has been working out like a mad woman trying to lose weight.  They told her they would use her weight from her last pcp appointment (which was a month ago and 7 pounds heavier). You're all set...no worries!
