The shots are Lovenox a blood thinner. It is a precaution against blood clots and quite important especially if you are not moving around the way you should be.

Hey, I believe Dr. Loggins when he says he is very agressive when preparing for any contingency and one of the biggest causes of death in WLS is DVT...so blood thinners are, in his opinion, a vital part of post surgery tx. I am all in with this one.

I have a two week liquid diet prior to sugery and no bowel prep. As far as shots I have none to do at home prior to surgery but after I will be do B-12 shots at home once a month.

the shots are minor. the needle is really thin. just feels like a little pinch. you can do it yourself with no problem.
