Just kind of wondering if you will be able to skip the bowel prep where you will have been on liquids before your surgery?? It would be awesome of you could skip that icky part but then again knowing Dr Loggins standards you will probably still have to do the prep. I am just curious is all.

Hi Kathy, Saw Dr. Loggins today for my pre-op visit...oh no...can't miss that part!! AND he wants me to keep going on the liquids only. I lost a total of 8# since the 14th, so that is a total of 23, i think since december. He is very pleased but cautioned it could all be undone in ONE blowout meal, say the Fisherman's platter at Bay Haven!!lol SO, on I go and it is all good. How did you handle the injections?? I didn't know about those until today.. Is that the "dirty little secret" that everyone is keeping so we have a SURPRISE!!! hahahhaha Oh well, I am exhausted!!

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

Hubby gave me my shots. I could not do them myself. They don't really hurt but I just could not do them myself. Cheryl they go in the fatty tissue in your belly.

Dr. Clough doesn't have us do the bowel prep and I haven't heard anything yet about the shots.  what are they for?   How is everyone doing on the 2 week liquid fast?  I seem to be doing ok. I have lost 10 lbs,  so far

Dr Cobean doesn't do them either.  The shots are to prevent bloodclots.  But MMC gives one before and after in the hospital.  Seems unnecessary if you ask me.

I agreeeeeee !!!!  I dont mind shots, but I dont know about doing it to myself, oh boy??? I have had several sergeries and they never made me do that.  but then again, they might have before and after????  Maybe cause Loggins works with obesity it is a precausion?? I don't know I just need to find someone to do it.

All that I've read says that it is done as a precaution because, as we are overweight, we are more prone to blood clots...and they aren't fun!!! I'm not looking forward to the injections either, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!     I'm thinking my DH won't be able to do it for me (he's a chicken when it comes to possibly hurting anyone!)  I'll figure something out (I was joking with my daughter and she said she'd do them!  haha, she's pretty squeamish, doubt she'd be able to do it!!!)
