Kate,    My surgery started at 7:30 (had to be there for 5:45am!) I don't remember anything until around 1:00 or 1:30pm that afternoon when I awoke fully in my room.  When Dr. Loggins came to see me later he told me that the surgery can last 2- 2 1/2 hours. Mine, according to him , lasted less then that.  Hope this helps.     I believe that the amount of time it takes really depends on what he finds when he gets in there. I think he does a small liver biopsy at the same time to see the fat content of the liver. That's one reason for the weight-loss before surgery........the less fat he has to "tunnel through" when he gets in there, the better it is for him AND us! Anne

Cheryl,             You're really doing well with the weight you've lost thus far. I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers on the day of your surgery. It's a day of "new beginnings". Just remember, even though you're having lap-band, ALL of us are here for you and are cheering you on ! Anne

I remember waking around 3ish Went in at about 1 If all goes really smoothly with no scar tissue and things of that sort 1 1/2 to 2 hours is not unreasonable. Could be up to 4 hours. Just depends on the individual.
