So I order stuff online all the time.  Soy protein chips (which Kathi recommended once), protein popcorn, whey gourmet powders, achievOne, sugar free davinci syrups, lots of other sugar free stuff etc.  I hate paying the shipping charges, and I am impatient too.  I also buy bariatric advantage viatmins too. I wonder how well a store would do here that sold lots of varieties of proteins, sugar free things, vitamins etc?  You would think it would do well with so many people coming to the area for their surgeries.  Even diabetic people would enjoy some of the stuff I would think.  Or workout types that need lots of protein. It would be good to be able to buy the sample packets of things too and not waste money on a big tub of something you don't like.   Would you guys shop for that kind of stuff at a local store?  Or do you get everything you need at like walmart/GNC or prefer ordering online?  Just curious. I can't stand the protein from walmart...maybe because I am all set with just vanilla or chocolate.

I order online, but if there was a local store that sold all of these items I would choose to buy from it!!  I hate paying for shipping.

well you ask, so I am very Frugal and dont' go to specialty stores cause you know your paying more, I do order things on line, but very limited, and if shipping is too high, forget it!  I have been going to walmart or GNC, or Rite Aide.  I plan on making alot of recipes to try and make varieties of shakes and still be able to keep the cheap walmart brand.  I dont' think it is bad.  but that might change after I've have it for 3 weeks.  But, that being said, when you opening up your new store???

I buy both locally and online.  I'm impatient also and want the stuff when I want it!  haha  I hate the marked up shipping costs too!  I would absolutely buy locally if I could!  I'd love it!!!!   So, when you opening up a store?  hahaha

i got a ginormous tub at gnc and it's good. just get nauseous sometimes from it. i've also gotten from walmart. not as smooth but will do. i get whey to go orange mango from hannafords. that's yummy. it's like tang and has 10 g protein per 12 oz. water. so i don't order online. i'm also hoping to be near the end of needing protein shakes. i'll keep the whey to go cuz they are so yummy.

I hate paying shipping too...and I also hate the really market up prices.  For instance it is 30 bucks for any whey at GNC.  That is way higher than buying online.  But with shipping costs it comes out about the same.   I have contemplated doing something like that, but wasn't sure how much interest there would be in Maine.  If I ever did (which I would have to research A LOT more) I would totally not mark things up like a specialty place.  If I ever did open something it would be something I would want and I place I would go to if it were someone else's....if that makes any sense.  I am all about a good deal!

HOw about just a small place in your cellar or extra room, which you probably don't have with twins and mom living with you.  keep the cost of renting a place down.  sell it like avon.  get Corrinne to pass out brochures to patients.  and you can stay at home, like you do now, just on the side kind of thing.

How about adding flavors to the vanilla or chocolate?  I was using vanilla silk with the chocolate powder and adding a little bit of the international foods french vanilla cafe mix thats sugar free and caffiene free...you can get it right at hannaford or whatever. It makes it taste like a frappe...... I also got some coffee flavored soy milk from hannaford the other day and added that in with the regular fat free milk to give it the coffee flavor with my vanilla mix.......
