Real foods- 2gyms oh my
So just updating and I am officially on real foods! All my phases are finally over. I was writing Lisa about this, maybe some of you that are much further along can help. When do you feel less obsessed with protein? I know how important it is, and I get mine all in (and then some). But when do you get to a point when you don't feel like your whole meal/anck has to be protein. I keep wanting to add some sides for the minerals etc (like a tiny sald), or have a snack of some nectarine. But I am finding my breakfast is eggs, my snack is a shake, lunch is shrimp, late snack is chicken, dinner is shrimp. I am just all protein. I would almost feel guilty if I had a snack without protein.
On another note I am now a member of 2 gyms. Me....2 gyms ha ha. I got the first one at fitness world thinking ti would be great to drop the babes off etc. Then was finding that I was going, then hubby and switching (Kenzie is having some separation anxiety latel;y). It is further from our house so it adds 30 minutes to the workout in drivetime there and back. So I was missing out because I was letting hubby go instead. So I signed up at planet fitness (1 minute down the road). So now I can go every day when the babies nap. I can go, work out, and get back before they even wake up (my mom is here with them). With this membership I also have unlimited guest priviledges. So my mom or hubby, or a friend can come with me every time with no fee. So that will be good to bring my mom while hubby watches the babes.
Real foods....I feel like I should try something new...anything....but I wonder what?
This is what I do. I will make a meatloaf and I put things like this in it gonna sound strange but helps get my veggies in as well. I do half lean ground beef and half ground turkey. Eggs, Ground green beans, mushrooms cheese. You could actually do any veggie chopped before mixing and cooking. It seems like it is all protein but your getting so much more. We do the same with chili add all kinds of extras. I started doing things like this when all my daughter would eat was fluffanutters and spaghetti I would grind carrots and green beans and hide them in the sauce lol sneaky mom i was and she never knew.
Maybe I need to do that to trick myself. I am early out, so I know protein is the most important...but I know my body needs the veggies and fruit etc. I will add a side with my meat at dinner, and maybe do a combo of something for lunch...or even add some peppers to eggs etc. I am just in this phase of...I can only hold a little...it should be all egg...nothing else.
I was a member there for a year before I got prego. It is a relaxed atmosphere. There are people there all shapes and sizes. Ages from high school to senior citizens. It depends which time of day you go I guess. Their cardio equipment is awesome though. It is like new, easy to use and up to date. Waaaaaaay better than the equipment at the other place. There really aren't any huge lifter guys there with big 'ol muscles so it isn't intimidating at all. I ususally go around 9amish (babies am nap), 1pmish (babies pm nap), or anytime after 1:30 when hubby gets home. I prefer to go before dinnertime because it does get busy in the evenining. There is not many people when I go. If you do ever join we could work out together! Or if you wanted to check it out and give it a try I have unlimited guest priviledges. So I can sign a guest in anytime I go. You could totally come sometime if you want :)
