Tues was my first appt with the P.A. I had always seen Dr.Clough.Well when I signed in the resepttionist ask where my pharmacy was. I said to me hubby that is weird. Well I got in and he said I was very low on Vit D and needed a perscription. Then he told me I HAD to get down to 180lbs. I said well that will be hard as I weighed 200 in 6th grade !!! With all my arthritis it is hard for me to exercise because of the pain. Then I asked about getting the fat removed and he said well no doctor is going to touch you at 298 lbs.And i would just give up on plastic surgery anyway becasue it cost thousands and around here they want there money up front. Then he told me if I cannot walk 30 minutes and keep my heart rate up for that whole time everyday 7 days a week its no good to walk at all.  That did not make my day. I am at a 6 month stand still on weight, and he sure did not help.

Boy after traveling the road you've traveled he didn't seem very encouraging.  did he even say anything about how wonderful you have done.  Pam are you able to walk even a little?  I also have arthritis in all my joints, It hurts, and believe me after walking 30 - 40 mins, I usually limp away from my walks, but it does get better,  But, I have to do what my body lets me do.  I hate to exercise, and being overweight just makes it worse.  not only is it harder, but being in public, huffin and puffin and limping away I just know people are looking at me  and saying, "well, maybe if you lost a little weight girl????"  I do it privately, and take my time, even if its 10 mins, 3 times a day.  it is very hard to stay motivated, when it hurts.  Whatever the doc says, I think you have done great, and will continue to.  keep up the wonderful work. and to heck with him.

Well sheesh that wasn't very nice of him.  You have done a wonderful job don't let that pipsqueak take any of your accomplishments away from you. I would maybe let your surgeon know how rude that PA was. I have been told as I am sure many of you have that any amount of movement( Exercise ) matters and counts. Keep your chin up.

Wow...how rude.   I noticed my next appointment with Dr. Toder was to see the PA.   I've be forwarned!  Hummmm.....I'll be prepared!   Sorry it was like this for you.  Perhaps you could call and speak with Dr. Clough himself with your concerns.  He won't know unless you tell him.  Issues such as this need to be addressed as the stress can certainly play a role in how well you continue to do.  I would encourage you to call the office and speak with someone....even if they have to call you back at a later date.

Remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over!

Inexcusable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have the right to respectful care, you have done amazingly well, don't let some Dr wannabe take you joy from you. Stand on your success and go for your dream. Try some non weight bearing exercise like swimming or  i really like my gazelle, no pain in my knees, after. He is an idiot! You on the other hand are a weight loss Queen!

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

He sounds like a real jerk. My gosh, you have lost nearly (more than?) 200 pounds! How amazing is that? Even if you don't lose another ounce, this surgery has been unquestionable successful! Don't let anyone take that success away from you, Pam! And if you've got the guts...call him on it! Report him to the doc! Even if what he advises is medically sound, he has no right abusing you because he is in a position of power.
