EMMC Question
Thanks for the reply Kathy. When I began the program I asked Lynn if my labs could be done at TAMC...they are affiliated with EMMC. She said she didn't know. I would have to ask the surgeon at the time of my appointment. So that is one of the many questions for the surgeon I have written in my notebook.

Caribou, those are all good and valid questions. If I was you I would call and ask before the appt. so you can make all those plans ahead of time. Tell them about your 8 hour drive. I agree with Kathy. You will be fine, with Dr. Loggins we had, or most of us have had our lab work, EKG and many more test before approval from Insurance, but every dr. is different. Again, call and ask... good Luck
I had all of my labs done at Millinocket Regional Hospital...about a month before surgery. Dr. Clough's office called shortly after with a prescription for Vitamin D..I didn't have to have ultrasound, but did have an ECG, I think that is what it is called.....At the appointment with Dr. Clough he will come in and ask you why you want the surgery, how much you want to lose, and basically send you on your way, well that is how it went with me, and about a month later I was operated on.

Hello, I had Dr. Toder and on Jan. 4th I met her, she asked me a few general questions and told me I was a good candidate for the surgery gave me paperwork for blood work so I could have it done closer to my house, I could have had it done there at the hospital but I wanted to get back home and told me they would submit my paperwork to insurance. I had my bloodwork done and on Jan. 11th I received a call for Dr. Toder's office saying I was approved and they gave me my date for surgery which was Feb. 28th. The did send me in for an EKG and somemore bloodwork before I had my surgery which I was able to have done at any hospital I wanted. Also, she started me on Vitamin D prescription prior to surgery, because mine was low when they did the bloodwork. Good luck!!
