New to posting and have been reading lately...

I have to say you all are very inspirational...I can say that you all inspire me and no matter how hard its been on you, you always seem to make your way through it and I think a lot has to do with the support you get on here also...And I want to say congrats on all your weight loss to each and every one of you...Also to the pre op's like myself you are doing great also, struggling through some of the loop holes you have to jump through to make it to a surgery date...I have been to the seminar in Bangor, to a support group, and to the Psych Evaluation...Next week I will go to the Nutrition Class and Physical Therapy, then in May, yes a whole month with nothing, I then go to the dietitian...As long as my blood sugars are under the 8% for the 3 months prior I will be going to see the surgeon next, if not I have to work on this...I am a little worried about that only because I was on prednisone for about 3 weeks...And if you don't already know this, prednisone makes the blood sugars highhhhh...So I am hoping that with counting down now and then next couple of months it will all even out and be under 8 so I can see the surgeon, have it submitted and then get a date....I am so excited about my new life..I have dont a lot of studying and reading and reading of posts that I know I am ready for this, although I know it might not be easy...With the medical problems I have, diabetes, asthma, sleep apnea, hypertension etc...I know that this surgery is for me and can only benefit me...Anyway I better stop going on and on, you will fall asleep before reading all...Take care my friends...Angela

Welcome Angela!! Glad you have come in!! I think you will find this a very supportive, lively group where no question is considered dumb or asked too many times.  Someone will always chime in and give you help, a nudge if you need, a dash of cold water or a hug. We all enter into this journey after a lonely decision making process, and what a breath of fresh air to read OUR thoughts, OUR feelings, OUR fears right here, but coming from someone else. It is a powerful message, one that says we are not alone in this scary rollercoaster ride, somene is always here to hear us. WE will join you in your countdown and be here every step of the way if you need us. The board means that much to me!!!

Welcome Angela!  I haven't been around here very long either but the support these wonderful people give is incredible!  Welcome also to the wonderful rollercoater ride of being pre-op!  We are all going through it (or some have been through it) and it's great to know that there is someone out there that has had the same questions or concerns that I've had.  Welcome! 

Welcome Angela, This is a great place and a whole lot of fun. But mostly just good support and  a place to get questions answered or be pointed in the right direction. Hopefully I won't be too far behind you with my surgery. Only a couple months since I am hoping for the end of the summer. Angela welcome to the group, it is a great new life that happens after surgery..aleast for me some have had more problems than other but it is all worth it in the end to be happy and healthy once again in our life.. Thank you all so much for the welcome to the group...I really appreciate you all for your support...Moody Blue thats kinda cool that we might be around the same time...I am thinking probably between July and August or maybe before...It all depends on my blood sugars and the dreaded word "Insurance".  Although, I don't think with all my co-morbidities that it will take long for them to approve me...Atleast that's what Edith thinks also...Anyway I hope to be of support to all of you as much as you to me...Thanks so much...Angela
