Hi everyone my name is Jenn. I am 33yrs old and 4 Years Post-Op from the Rou-en-y Bypass. I have had 2 children within that time and only gained 12lbs with each preg. but, after my second child, the death of my dad, and loosing my job in the matter of a few months of each other I started to put on the weight. Over the past 2 1/2 years I have gained half of what I lost. Yes, I did the gym,the dieting, ect. but it seems to have no effect. So Now I am putting my issue out there in cyber bypass land to see if anyone can give me some other type of information to go by or perhaps to try. I have called the Bariatric Center in Portland and Barbara C. and I are working on it, but I would love to have some feed back because where I live, I have had to cancel the past 3 appointments due to the weather. I live 2 hours North of Portland. Thank You for giving Me your time.  Please by all means email me at  [email protected]

I have heard of people doing the 5 day pouch test and having results. It is kind of like starting as a new post op patient with fluids only I will see if I can find the link for you. Do you still chart your intake. Foods and such. If not maybe you could start there. It really keeps you honest. Ask a Nut. what you should be getting in each day for protein and calories to try and rekindle your losses. Hope this helps I am off to find that link http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/jayejaye/uzone,blog/action,comments/blog_id,94818/blog_post_id,131509/

Wow...really interesting information about so-called Slider foods at that 5 day pouch test page. Good explanations that I (a newbie) have not read elsewhere.

I would also suggest just sort of going back to basics, that is what I have heard helps the most. Just start all over again like you are a new post-op. I know it wont be easy but it will be worth it if it works. Good luck!
