met some girls

hehe, kathy, I would say so, but, i'm old fashioned in today's life alot of people start later.  It is funny, this is what I found. I grew up in Lewiston maine, where alot of peope (my parents) married young and worked in mills or factories all their lives, as my kids grew up we used to bring my son to Portland for swimming practice and we were so young, (my husband and I) every one else were in their 40 and had young kids, BUT, they all had college degrees, some had 2 families, 2 older kids and 2 younger.  one of my good friends was a grandmother in her mid 30's.  I just turned 50 and no grand kids yet, not sure how I feel??? my kids have so many college loans I don't think they can afford kids.   I"m not sorry I started early, I was 20 with my first.

I started early too. Married at 17, first baby at 18, second baby at 20. Now I'm 36 and my oldest is graduating high school in June and I feel so old. I always wished I had started later, but my friends that started later tell me it nice for me now, because I have some freedom that they don't. The way I look at it, they had freedom when I was tied down with 2 babies at a young age. I tell my kids to wait til their 30 before they get married and have kids. I just hope they listen to me. lol ~dori~

Do any of you know if you have to have had your surgery in Lewiston to go to that support group? If it doesn't matter, I'd like to go sometime and meet all of you too. ~dori~

Dori, I brought Rhonda with me last night, you and she met in Dr, Cobean's office when you were going through...Aunti Glasses? There were 2 other post surgery pts at a presurgery support group, and we will all be post support soon and we can all meet at those group meetings. iI think they welcome everyone, support is the point. I would love to meet you too, we did have agood time and I could kinda tell we could get into some serious fun together!

Kate, Yep me and Ronda are about a month apart on our surgeries. I didn't know that you 2 knew each other. It's great support when you personally know someone that has had the surgery, someone you can call and ask when you have questions that you're to embarrassed to ask here. My best friends sister had the surgery 1 year before I did and I'm always asking embarrassing questions, still. lol When is the next group, I'd like to go. Where is it located? Thank you, ~dori~

you know Dori, Corinne doesn't seem to know who's there for our support or a patient, I think you should go,  like kate said we will be soon all going to post op, that would be fun, from what I hear the post op, has clothes trades and they have a good time too.  I agree, boy looks like we have a few fun people, from here that was there, haha, big Jude was in the front row with her friend and her friend kept slapping her, it really was funny.  I think with our fooling around it really relaxed some of the other people.  Maybe they will become crazy too.

I'd like to go to both groups if they let me. If someone can tell me when the next group is I'll let you all know if I can make it. I think it will be a lot of fun. Sounds like it was a good group last night. It's always nicer when people are more relaxed and talking more. ~dori~
