My official week 3 weightloss 3 pounds

Well, using only my Monday morning weigh in (official once a week weigh day) I am down 3 pounds this week.  Bummed about it, but what can you do.  Since surgery I have lost 12.5 pounds.  Which is great, but it seems like that isn't that much for 3 whole weeks.  I have followed the plan to a T.  Getting in all my liquids, all my protein and exercising.   Who knows, maybe this is normal.  But when you see all sorts of signatures with month 1-23 lost etc it makes my loss look pretty small.  I am on week 4 now.  I know, I know, everyone is different.....but....It just seems like that is normal weighloss for someone on a diet, not someone who had major surgery.  Do you guys remember what you lost the first 3 weeks (or first month if easier to remember).  And don't feel bad posting your #'s.  I am sure some will be like...geeesh, I lost 30 pounds, I don't want to post and make her feel bad......I really am curious and I won't feel bad...promise. It just seems sad to already be thinking...how can I jumpstart the weighloss and I am only 3 weeks out.  We keep hearing the first few months are your best results....so that of course makes me nervous as my first month is already almost up and it didn't seem to go so well. Maybe I should have stayed on my wellbutrin ha ha.

Very rarely have I lost more than 3 pounds a week since week 2 As long as you are consistently losing don't get bummed. I was where you are too believe me thought I wasn't losing the way I should.

What are you doing for exercise maybe you need to up your calories a little to start the losing process again. What was your weight at your pre op appt with Dr Loggins?? When I felt I wasn't losing fast enough I went to the weight loss estimator in the MY OH section and it said I was right on track. My first month if I go by the weight I was at the morn of surgery I only lost maybe 10 pounds. So I am going from my pre op and official weigh in for the estimator.

At my two week check-up, I had lost 27lbs.  Believe me it will come off, you will be able to tell by the way your clothes fit.  When you are not losing pounds, you are losing inches.  In the beginning I felt the same way as you...I gained while in the hospital...it was from the gas the put in me.  Just give yourself a little time, sit back and watch the scale go down!!  Best wishes to you!!

oh Tanya, I know you don't want to hear "blah blah, well its better then gainning"  but look at it this way,  3 lbs a week x 4 weeks a month x 12 months is 144 lbs.  and think of all the extra weeks we're not counting for the months that have 5.  I would be very happy with 144 in one year.  YOur doing sooper, dont get discouraged, I know it can, but your on your way toots.. be happy....

I am a very slow loser also but for every pound I have lost I am very happy. If I didnt lose another pound I am much father ahead then I was 7months ago.. Give your self time your body keeps adjusting. It did not go on over night it is not going to come off over night. I am.  But I work from a home office...so it isn't like it is a real job.  It is, but you know. I can work anytime (I prefer during the days) to get my work done.  My mom watches the babies until 1:30, and then my hubby is home to watch them.  Of course I help throughout the day or will take a break to go play with them for awhile.  It helps being on an eating schedule too.  They do breakfast, lunch and dinner and 2 snacks.  So I do it with them.  Breakfast (like a scrambled egg), then when they have their mid morning snack I have a protein drink, then lunch (like refried beans), then at their mid afternoon snack I will have 1/2 a protein drink, then dinner (crab or something), then at night I have the other 1/2 of the protein drink in my cocoa. I drink water in between all of this at my desk or while playing with them.  I haven't found it hard to get everything in and work at all.

Tanya, that sounds perfect, you are lucky you have such a flexible job.  I wish I could have done what I do now when My kids were babies, I worked nights, and missed them and missed many things they did.  I still cry thinking about it.  I thank God everyday I have such a wonderful husband and he was such a perfect Daddy.  He was there 24/7, played sports with them, coached them. got up at 4am to bring my Son to swim practice at Bates for several years, traveled out of state.  he is awesome.  even taking their bottle away, trainning them, he did it all.  It sounds like you are doing a great job enjoying them and playing with them, you will always remember these times.
