support groups
gotta question. Dr Loggin's support groups, do we always have to have a video or do we have open mike? Is Corinne always the one who runs the groups? Just wondering if they are different sometimes. I find everyone so quiet and to themselves. Wish we were all there I think we would have a good time.
do the groups get roudier as you go along?

corinne always runs them and they do get broken up. she starts with her thing but i bet if someone spoke up to ask some questions it could go that way. i found it much more helpful with the q&a sessions. the video's bored me. i can research that online. i want support from others and their stories for motivation.
LIsa I feel the same way. Isn't that what support groups are, although we do have each other here, but, I found the people very quiet and uncomfortable. ONly a few were yakking (I one of course). maybe after they get more comfortable and meet everyone. I told my husband "boy, I think chubby people have attitudes" I know that wasn't nice, but, we are all there for the same reason. I felt shy for them???
Sorry, I feel bad I said that, but was just my view.

I am not sure how the post op groups are, but I picture them much different in my head. I would love to go to a post op meeting and people are sharing protein samples, what is working for them exercise and dieting.....talking about experiences they have had maybe with dumping etc. I have heard people bring in clothes sometimes to trade when they have outgrown (rather the opposite I guess) it.
I would love a more round table discussion. Maybe some questions planned ahead and then just anyone jumps in.
I know all the pre-op meetings I went to everyone was quiet as well. I think maybe everyone is nervous about it, no one knows each other. Maybe once we have gone through it is easier for people to speak up since they have been there.
In my last pre-op meeting the few ladies there that had already had the surgery did most of the talking and people asked them some questions. I will be interested to know how the post ops mtgs are for Dr. Loggins patients. I will be there March 13th and will know then :)
Anyone want to describe the post op mtgs?
