I'm very happy to tell you all that I have been approved for my Lap Band surgery which is schedualed for Monday, March 24th. It took Mainecare only 6 days to approve me! I am so surprised...and oh so HAPPY! I start my liquid diet on March 10th. I'm actually looking forward to it! The 10th is also when I am schedualed to go in for my pre op tests. Things are going great! Life is GOOD!!

I'll be doing that for a while! LOL To those of you waiting for your dates..I hope everything goes as smooth for you as it is for me. Good luck! Take care everyone. ~Julie~

WOOHOO Congrats Julie!!! Good luck on the 2 week pre op diet. It SUCKS!!! It's the worst part of WLS. It was torture for me. I hope it's better for you. Keep us updated on how you're doing. ~dori~

Congratulations Julie! That's wonderful...you are on your way! And it is great for me to hear how fast MaineCare approved! I am so grateful to have MaineCare right now and grateful they will pay for surgery. I paid for health insurance my whole life until coming to seminary and as soon as I get a full time placement after graduation (by this time next year I hope) I will have insurance again...but in the meantime I am blessed to have Mainecare. I don't take it for granted for a second. I will follow your progress with interest!

Julie, That is wonderful. I know how you feel I am waiting to hear my date. My surgeon told me he can almost promise that it will be April 14th but I am waiting for the official word. You are One step closer to your goal. Congrats Peggy

congrats julie. that's wonderful news. good luck with your pre-op requirements. we had to do a bowel prep rather than liquid diet. i'm not sure which is worse but it's all worth it.
