Sleep apnea study results
Well, I am not surprised, but my study came back as "highly abnormal" and I have to be fitted for a CPAP machine.
I emailed Lynn and asked her if this will delay surgery further and she said it might if I don't get the appointment done sooner rather than later. Right now I am scheduled for my physical with my PCP on march 25th and follow-up then, but Lynn said to try and not wait that long to take care of this so I am trying to be a squeeky wheel...and dearies.,..let me tell you, after 20 years in commission sales I can squeek louder (in a nice way!) than almost anyone I know!
Will let you know how it all turns out.

I know it might sound like just one more thing, but finding this out is certainly another reason to do what you want to do, as far as WLS. are you tired?? I didn't have to take the test, so I was wondering why they choose to do the test on some people and not others? CAuse I'm sure you don't know you have it or not... before hand.... well, good luck with your squeek.. take care and drive safe. Cheryl
I actually asked to have the study done myself. I used to be a side sleeper, but since the arthritis in my knees has been so troublesome, I have been forced to sleep on my back all night, and for the past several months, I have noticed that I wake up with a headache that goes away almost immediately after rising. I read that is a sign of sleep apnea and when I mentioned it to my doctor, she agreed and scheduled the study. All this was before I even went for orientation at EMMC.
Regarding sleep deprivation, I am always tired, but assumed it was from so much studying. Also, I have always gotten up several times during the night to go th the bathroom, so I blamed it on that. But the Sleep technician said it may not be my urge to urinate that is waking me, it may be that I wake from lack of breathing and as I reach consciousness, I am awake enough to realize I have to pee. It sure would be great to wake up more refreshed! I cannot imagine what it would be like to sleep straight thru the night. Perhaps that has something to do with my energy level, huh?

i disliked my cpap machine from the first time i had to have it..i sleep on my side and had a really hard time sleeping on my back..having two back surgerys i dont do well sleeping on my back.. I had to have the machine before i could have sugery. I had my last july they told me to take to hospital but i never took it out of the car. they said i didnt need it. who knows. as far a i am concern MY OPINION ONLY it is a pain in the ass. and the doctor (Dr. Harrow) was even worse we did not get along from get go..but finally christmas he took me off after 3 sleep study saying i didnt need it any more I had lost enough weigh to get off. I really hope the machine helps you it never did me..
