rough morning
i figured the itchy rash is from my pain meds. now my stomach just won't settle down. i'm constantly running to the potty and (tmi) it's like water. after i'm wiped out and need to lay down. i took two tums this morning and that has helped a bit but i'm just not feeling well. no pain, no fever. just don't feel so hot. i wonder if the cramps are from the gas they put in us. almost a burning sensation across the bottom of my abdomen. almost menstrual like.
any ideas?

OH, LIsa, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. maybe its your body reacting to those meds again. Can you stop them and take something else? I for one do not take pain meds very well, and I've tried different kids after my neck surgery. I always just took Advil (I know, no more taking advil) but how about just liq. tylonol. Hope you feel better, just rest all you can and good luck.
I felt bloated and achy for about a week after my surgery. Most, if not all of it was from the gas they use. As for running to the bathroom, remember, you're on liquids......they go through your system faster then a normal meal would. This helps to flush out the system but, I agree isn't always pleasant. Rest assured that you'll get over feeling like this soon. Your body is adjusting to it's new way of digesting things as well as the surgery. All it needs is time. As I've said before, take things easy. If you are in ANY doubt, give Dr. Loggins a call tomorrow morning. (although Monday's are surgery days, I KNOW someone will get back to you.)
Take Care.

thanks again for the tips. i broke down and took some pain meds and just did again. i only too a half dose this time. i really hate taking that stuff. makes sense what you are all saying too. i can't expect a solid movement when all i'm having is liquids. i don't feel dehydrated as i'm getting my fluids. although slower today. i may have overdone yesterday so am doing absolutely nothing today. i even called my aunt to ask her to visit another day. i'm sure i'll see more improvement tomorrow and the next day. sounds like i'm on the tail end of the crap according to what you're all telling me. so far it's still all worth it.
Hope you are feeling better today. Also keep in mind you may be PMS'ing - this surgery and subsequent weight loss tends to bring on our cycles. (I say this bitterly because I was just ending up menopause before surgery - and I've had two periods since)
Remember you are only a week out from major surgery as well - that's why they give us the pain pills if we need them.
