I am looking for suggestions /advise. I need to start motivating to clean house more. It has never been my strong point. Not cause I am lazy but there are other things I would rather be doing. Here is my question does any body have a way to make house cleaning "FUN". Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I need to make this change now before I stay a computer chair potato again. I really know I have to stop this behavior now . My problem has never been food. It is not being active enough. My excuse was always that I did not have the energy. Hmmm well maybe just wasn't motivated . Anyway I really have to get moving now before it is to late. AHHHHHH!!!

ohhhh, yes yes, I do, I do, hehee,  ok, here is what I do, I started this years ago when I had 3 discs removed out of my neck and couldn't do dishes without pain, so the dr. told me to work in intivals, but I start something and need to finish so this is hwat I do and I trainned my dgt to do the same and it is funny cause she says it works.  ok, here goes:  Work on tv commercials! every time one comes on, jump up and run to make your bed, then come back, then next one jump up and pu****er in the sink, and go back and forth till its done, just try it one day, you'll be amazed how many commercials there are and how much work you get done. good luck

hee hee...I am a tv junkie and I do exactly the same thing! As a matter of fact, I plan my cleaning, dishes etc to do when The View is on (or something else that I can just listen to easily and no****ch) I crank it up and listen to Hot Topics while I am doing dishes or cleaning the kitchen or folding laundry. The only thing I can't do is vacuum cuz I can't hear.

I am a reader, so hate to stop to do housework...but I reward myself, like a hour of housework gives me an hour to kick back and read, etc.   My best trick to feel like I have accomplished something, is when I get up, I turn around and make my bed.  If I get nothing else done all day, my bed is made!! lol  I gather laundry as I go downstairs, throw the first load in before I eat breakfast,  it is usually finished by the time I am done  bkst, makeup and hair, and just before I leave the house into the dryer, and another load in the washer. That helps keep the pile knocked down. Hope that helps! kate

Kate, that sounds like a great plan, but just a note of caution...one of my neighbors threw a load of wash into her 18 month old dryer last summer and left the house to come to church and a short while later the fire whistle blew and by the time she got home her mobile home was completely gutted. Fire started somewhere in the vent of this nearly new dryer. That is a habit I broke real quick after that. Not that it would happen to you, but....

I'm not a good one for giving advice here - but I hope to learn something from your question!!! I LOATHE housework, and I am not good at it. I'malways amazed by my friends who love to do housework - why would they love it?  This is what I mean that I'm not good at it - I can totally spend a literal 20 minutes dusting and polishing a stand and it still looks dusty and streaky - whereas someone else would spend less than 5 minutes cleaning it and it would be spotless and shiny.  I do agree with what Cheryl suggested - it's something I force myself to do - although not at every commercial - everytime I get up I do something. Ok....I do have a suggestion.....even though I can't afford it- hire a housekeeper!!!! (I know, I know - I'm a really big help!) Candace

I use to be a slob when we first got married, my husband don't lift a finger, LOVE him tho... I even shovel and mow all the time.  the only thing he does and go to the dump. so now I stay at home and the house is usually!! very clean.  not perfect, but clean.. he tells me now, I would never want you to go back to work, you do such a good job with our home. cooking, cleaning and organizing... so that's ok with me.hehehe  I love staying home, but this OH is getting me lazy

well there must be something wrong with me cuz i love housework. it's my release from the day's stress. i usually crank some music and dance and sing my way thru it. my dogs look at me like i'm crazy and if a good song comes on my son will dance with me. it's good for a laugh. then i try to get him to help. lol like that's going to happen! he's been a big help this week though. he'll buckle down when i really need him to. he knows how much i enjoy it and stays out of the way.
