Insurance

I am currently waiting for my insurance to approve my surgery, I have Harvard Pilgrim and am so worried that they will refuse.  Has anyone been denied?  How do you go about getting your insurance to approve?  I feel like I'm watching the clock tick, the paperwork was submitted on Feb 8th.

Have you tried calling you Insurance co? Sometimes that helps get things rolling.

I have Harvard Pilgrim and they approved me in 7 business days.  Apparently the reviewer there is backed up.  If there is no surgery date (which is normal) it keeps getting pushed back.  Keep calling to check.

I am hoping to have a Roux-en-y as long as my insurance pays for it.  I have been going through the process since last Jan/Feb, I didn't think it would take this long but I had so much testing to have done.  I guess it's a good thing though because I found out things that I didn't know about myself.
