OOOF these past few days I would just rather stick to fluids. Not sure whats going on but every time I eat and I am eating slowly I feel as though my food is in my throat. I don't think I am getting a stricture cause I have not been sick, Just hoping I'm not getting a twisted bowel. Any of you old pros ever have days you don't feel like eating? I think I am just really constipated causing my problems. Any advise?

Kathy, have you called the dr.? seems like you have given it a couple of days, I wouldn't wait too long.  what about Milk of Mag??  just keep your liquids up.  Listen to me? like I know what I'm talking about.  just rest and liquids sounds lodgical to me.  take care.

I am a little better today did the laxative thing last night but still feel bloated. I am just gonna take my eating back a notch back to the 1/4 cup and see how that goes and I started adding benefiber again. I think that will help. I will let ya know how I make out. Crystal is supposed to be calling me at some pt today.

Gosh I hope you continue to feel better.  I have no answers either, but I also thought of milk of magnesia.  That is what I had to take after surgery---duh---you know this already. Anyways...hope you get better soon!

HI Kathy,
I hope you are feeling better. I have gone through the same thing on several occasions and it ended up being the constipation. My suggestion is increase your fiber, which you did by adding the benefiber. Keep drinking ~ if you aren't eating make sure to have some protein drinks to get that protein in. Also, if it's been more than 3 days I would suggest a fleet enema (SORRY) but that is what Pam suggested when I called on one occasion. They are not fun but boy do they work!
Good luck and hope you are getting better.

Kathy, Because you're so new out of surgery food isnt a "big deal" as long as you're getting in your fluids and protein. As you get further out food will become a bigger deal. Just make sure to keep drinking. Dehydration after WLS sucks so bad. It takes longer to feel better than it would normally. If you continue to feel like this you should go see your bariatric doctor and/or nurse. If you have any pain that isn't managable PLEASE call your doctor, don't wait. I hope the MOM works for you and you're feeling better soon. ~dori~
