whats your opinion??
ok, I went to support group last night. met a very nice, sweet woman, seen here at orientation. I'm trying to keep this short. so, she claims she has lost all her 10% weight since (29 lbs) Jan 1st. ok, fine?? so I asked her what she had been doing (feeling kinda like a putz) she said she has been walking 6 miles a day, riding her bike 6 miles at night and eating below 1000 cal a day, and starving. she said she can't go on like this for much longer. She hasn't seen Corinne yet. What you think Corinne will say. I got my own opinion but don't know if I'm just jealous cause she has done so well or concerned. now remember she isn't in her 20's, she is probably my age (50ish).
Was she on the Biggest loser show or something. Can you take a guess at how much she weighed? I know the more you do weigh the faster it comes off. I lost 28 on my own from September. I bet Corrine tells her to slow down she is putting her life at risk doing so much. She is basically getting in no calories and starving herself . I am a little concerned .I suppose she may have had a ton of fluid weight?? You can lose up to 15 pounds in a week if you have a lot of fluid.
I was also concerned, I thought who can do this? maybe for a few weeks, but.. she told me she had 25 lbs (10%) to loose, but lost 29. This is why we have all failed at one time or another at dieting, cause we went without and when we finally had some food we lost control. I am speaking for all of us, sorry, but we wouldn't all be here if we all could stick to something like that.
I dunno.....I have to admit here.....and I hestitate to do so because I know things will slow down as time goes on....but I can be a fast loser - even at 51, particularly the first week I can lose close to 20 lbs - but remember a lot of that is water weight.
For some people like me, losing the weight is not the issue, maintaining the weight loss is. This is actually why I chose WLS - because of the odds being better that I can keep it off this time.
