So..Last week I went to the new patient orientation and support group through EMMC here in Bangor...Already  I have my Nutritionist/Dietician appts ( I have to have a 2 hour class and then 2 more.) I have my Physical Therapist appt, and the quack doctors office called today and scheduled me for my 3 hour visit with them.  I'm super excited!  This seems to be going faster than expected...I thought i wouldn't even get in for appts, until like April or may..Does anyone know how long after their screening tests it took to get a date?  I know it depends on different things like insurance and all that, but do you guys think i will have surgery in like summer?  Or closer to fall?  Here are my appointments let me know what you guys think...I'm hoping closer to summer because I was accepted in the Dental Hygiene Program at my school last year and this fall i start actual dental classes...I don't want to miss too much school...:( Feb 27 - Nutrition appt #1
Feb 27- Physical therapy
March 6th- Psych Doc
April- 16th Nutrition appt
May- 6th Last Nutrition appt.
Let me know what you guys think...I  Want to have  Dr.Toder.  I can't wait!
Thanks Guys!  You all are so great!~

Hi Jen, I had my orientation meeting on 8/3/07 - surgery on 01/31/08. If all you appointments are done by you last NUT visit they will advance you to your preop surgeon visit.  After that the surgeon will clear you for surgery if all is ok and submit you papers to insurance. As soon as you get your approval, then they will call you to schedule the date - for me it was about 6 weeks out - I think some of the length of time there was due to Lalor's abrupt departure. Just want to wish you the best of luck with all your appts. Once your ins co approves you I think you should be able to pick a date within 6 months or so. I am happy that things are moving forward for you.

Welcome and good luck. You'll be surprised how fast it goes by. Seems like the longest part for me was insurance approval. My initial consult with Dr. Loggins was October 12 and my surgery is February 18.

Enjoy the ride and please let us know if you have any questions. We are very supportive here.

Hi Jen,  I had my orientation class in August and I'm scheduled for surgery on Feb. 28th.  It did take a little longer because I had to have two sleep studies done.  It was about 7 weeks between insurance approval and surgery date.  I am having Dr. Toder do my surgery also.  Best of luck to you!

How exciting for you Jen! Sounds like we are right on the same timeline at the same place with the same surgeon! But they only scheduled one nutritionist appointment for me (in addition to the group meeting). I wonder why? I have all the others scheduled that you do, my final one at Acadia on Mar 20th...

Yeah my 3rd one is because I have Aetna Insurance and they require a 3rd one....Im so happy their program is right on top of that...My Co-worker who is also having the surgery only has to have 2 like you..she has insurance through the Army or something so every insurance is a lil different.  Yeah Im excited I have someone on here with about the same timeline!  -Jen
