I was wondering if any of you had Dr. Toder?  Specifically does anyone know when she performs the upper GI after surgery?  Like is it one day ? 2? 3 days after?  Thanks!

Hi Jennifer, I'mfresh off her operating room table - had my surgery on the 31st. I didn't have an upper GI that I am aware of - unless they did one right after the operation. I will say that she was amazing - she did my lap rny robotically with I think minimizes any disruption to your body parts - I came out of surgery with not much pain fromthe surgery. I do have a great deal of back pain - which I understand can be from an epidural and/or the position they have you on the table during the surgery. Any questions you have the I can help you with feel free to ask. I'll be posting sometime soon for another member about my surgery experience. Best Wishes,  Candace

Thanks for your response!  I'm so happy everything is going good for you!  Toder gives Epidurals?  In the group thing they said she didn't...I guess she bases it on the individual.  How soon did she come and check on you after? Did they do any tests before you were discharged? Sorry for all the questions. -Jen

hi, I had dr toder, she does not do a GI or a leak test, and i did not have a epidural. i guess everyone is different but I think she does the same with everyone.. she is great and i wouldnt worry if i were you , you will be in good hands..she is right to the point but good at what she does..

Now I'm going to have to ask.....someone said I did....but I was very drugged and may have dreamt they said epidural was the reason for my back pain. I don't really have much memory of a lot of it - she came in the morning after surgery, very, very early. I didn't have any tests before I was discharged - the biggest thing that they seemed concerned with is the ability to pee. Questions are what we are here for!!!! Anytime!!!!

I had a little back and shoulder pain but it was due to gas.. To do lap surgeries the have to pump your abdomen full of gas to be able to see properly it takes a while to relieve that gas. The more you move though the better you are.. Dr Loggins does do the leak test. It wasn't so bad the stuff you have to drink is way better than the bowel prep..

Clough gives epidurals due to the open procedure but it is not needed for a lap procedure. Toder is awesome, I had her as well. She is a very skilled surgeon and I would highly recommend her.
