Thank you! It's a lot of hard work as we all know ~ no matter what your surgery was or will be. I love the support I get here, it's so nice to know I have somewhere to go where everyone knows what I'm going through! Summer, I'm jealous of your steak dinner too!  I can't eat red meat and I OH SO MISS IT!

Isn't it funny that even with the same surgeon and the same tool that foods are tolerated so differently? Actually, red meat sits the BEST in my pouch ... beans are ok too ... so is dairy - but chicken and pork are generally ok, but sometimes just sit funky! It's a strange but wonderful tool we have! LOL

Sheli, I also will be having the band, and worry daily about it being the right choice, but I have to listen to my heart.  I've been seeing so much bickering about their surgery is the best (on both sides) blah blah, not a big help to hear that stuff.  So happy there are still some wonderful people who support each other no matter what their choice was.  You are doing so well as is so many others on both sides.  Love this site... and thanks to all for your friendship and support.  I understand I am still new, and feel like you guys have known each other for so long, but, I just need to be patient and soon will feel like one of the gang.   Keep up the good work,  and congratulations.  Cheryl

Cheryl, we are all pretty "new." The maine board was almost dead when I found it in March 07...some wonderful ladies got it started up in force and it is a great place!   There is no bickering here about which surgery people had.  No one says bad things to each other about the choices we have made.  I support and am supported by all pre and post ops no matter what their surgery.  I love it!!!  A pre-op RNY'er and I were 2 days apart for surgery and she was my cheerleader, support and sanity.  She may not know how much it meant to "know" someone else having surgery at the same time, but she needs to know that she was a huge help to me, kept me going mentally (THANK YOU YVONNE!)   I am excited to be able to say my choice worked and hers did too!!!  We are all here with a common goal..to get healthier and smaller!   Welcome to the Maine board!!!!   :) Sheli

Oh Sheli, I'm so proud of you. You must feel fantastic. I can't wait to lose that much. I think it's wonderful you got the lap band and had such great success. Keep going girl! What a great year this will be for all of us.
